20 nights 35K here; although it will be tough since I don't need many more nights to requalify and I'm going to hilton as soon as I hit 75 nights

I can personally validate that this works. FWIW though, I will say that during last year's promo, I did this on just about every stay and never paid attention as to which was "last" on the bill, and every one counted as a Visa stay. It surely is possible that every one came out this way by coincidence (Visa charge last), but I never made any effort whatsoever in this regard and had no problems having them count toward the promo.

I hope that's not the case-I have not received a Megabonus offer either and I have many reservations already booked.I will retain Gold this year=perhaps making it to Plat, but if I am not included ,I will consider moving most of my stays elsewhere.

I plan to give it a few more days to show up online before calling.

Yes, I am getting the 10% off cards. My spending at Marriott is around $2,500 per month, so I don't see a way that I would be able to rack up anything more than a couple of thousand dollars at most with the gift cards. Still, it's free money.

What's your average monthly spending at Marriott? How did you accrue $18k???!!

Are the folks who say they weren't offered anything following the instructions listed by Traviss in post #21? I never received anything from Marriott, but found my offer when I went digging.

Back to my question which I haven't seen anyone address (I don't think). Is it possible to get a lesser promo? I was offered 15 nights/25K, but may have a hard time reaching this. The 10K promo would be better for me.

As a gold member, do I have a chance calling Marriott to ask to change from my 10K points offer to the 15 nights for 25K or 20 nights for 35K offer? Or, are you pretty much stuck with what they offer?

Thanks.

I was Gold during the last Megabonus and had no problems changing mine. So you should be able to change it.

Keep in mind that if 1 is allowed to change the promo that was sent its a 1 time change. You can make the change anytime up until the promo is over. So 1 is better off waiting as if you take the 20 for 35k and dont make it then they drop you to what you were offered. While if what you were offered is a couple steps below the 20 for 35, then theres no way to get the 15 for 25k. Had you waited and seen you would do the 15 but not the 20 then you could hav echanged it to the 15 before it ends.

You can always call and ask if they will allow a change and then tell them you will call back as you want to work out which would be best. Of cause you dont call back till near the end of teh promo, but do ask that CSR to put a note in your acct that you are allowed to make a change

$1500 weekly...putting $150 in my pocket a week. I have bought 18 of the $1K cards (and topped off my sis-in-laws delta miles ) putting $1800 in my pocket so far! If it wouldnt be for the FFN, I would still be at 1.5K/wk!
