Disappointed in the bonus or in not pre-qualifying? At least you are able to change to whatever version you want. This is one nice benefit of being a Gold/Plat.

Me too, and I am happy with it as it = 3,300 MR points/STAY (of 1 night each) bonus.

That sux....my company wants us to use Amex and stay at Sheraton - but since HR person never leaves her desk we were ablet to convince her to adjust policy. Flights and meals must be paid with Amex, hotels we can do whatever we want. Therefore, whenever I am forced to stay at Sheraton (i.e. if SPG is running a nice promo) I will use the Amex, otherwise its Marriott for me.

To follow up: I wasn't registered originally so called the Platinum line and spoke to a CSR. She looked saw that I wasn't registered and immediately registered me. Not sure if it would've gone through anyway by the end of the day or Sept 11 as someone had mentioned in a previous post or not, but there was no argument, etc.

I assume the site gets updated every night b/c this morning the 35K/20 nights promo was showing in my account.

As a PLT, I used to always get 25K for 35. When my stays dropped, IIRC, I got 15K for 25. Now, I'm still PLT, but just 4 nights so far this year, and I got this one:

Register for the MegaBonus promotion and earn 5,000 Marriott Rewards points for every third Visa-paid stay you make at Marriott. You can earn up to 25,000 points toward the vacation of your dreams before you know it.
So I need 15 stays - not 15 inghts - for that same 25K bonus.

And I am not pre-registered. I have to click the red button.

Does the use of a vacation card count as a Visa paid stay? Is there a Visa logo on the card? Thanks

Is there a way of using 2 cards without purchasing an additional item on the folio (gift shop, movie, etc.)?
Yes, you CAN do that. But I would buy a postcard/chips/water/etc and put the room on the corp amex, then LEAVE the other charge on the bill and put THOSE on the VISA.

IMPORTANT to close out the bill on the VISA though!

That's all I got too. That's what I get for being a GM with Marriott as my third preference in Hotels.

I miss having my three days in Springwood next week count.

Anybody with past experience on this one...using a seven night Marriott Rewards Stay, but has a $80 a night cash upgrade associated with it. When having the "cash" add-on to a Marriott Reward, has anyone received the night credits for the Megabonus promotion?

I just ordered $2,000 worth of Marriott vacation cards for delivery to a hotel this week. I hope to pay my bill this week using those cards. I saw someone else ask about whether or not paying with a gift card counts as a Visa stay. I know that since I charged the purchase to my Visa card that it's a "Visa" Marriott purchase, but that doesn't mean it's a "stay". Are the gift cards truly processed on Marriott's end as if it were a pre-paid Visa card? This might be obvious to one who has actually seen these cards before, but I have not. Thanks for any input!

PS: I plan to order a boatload of these gift cards. After looking at it from every angle, it's really hard to see reason why one wouldn't get a pile of these things.

For hotels these are regular VISA cards as discussed to death on other threads.

Registration is required Nights spent while redeeming an award are not eligible for credit. A stay is defined as consecutive nights spent at the same hotel, regardless of check-in/check-out activity. Only one room per hotel is counted towards a members nights or stay. Members electing to earn miles are not eligible for this promotion. All Marriott Rewards program terms and conditions apply. Visit MarriottRewards.com, or call 1-888-MARRIOTT for complete details.

A MR rep signed me on Friday for this promo when I asked if there were any promos available. The rep made it a point to tell me that I have to have separate stay periods and having two different reservations within the same stay will not count towards separate stays because the system will be able to detect it.

I tend to disagree as I have "checked out" and "checked in" before within the same stay.
