I am now calling ahead all FS Marriotts to check on status of Lounge and/or breakfast coupons for Gold/Plat before I book a room. With no benefits offered for the weekend, I am booking elsewhere.

San Francisco Marriott

Although the lounge IS open for the weekend, they do close at 12noon on Friday. Just a heads up if you arrive on a Friday expecting evening service.

Are you referring to the one in downtown, near the Moscone Center?

ntamayo Feb 13, 2009 10:42 pm

Yep, that's the one, near Moscone. Must have been a recent change, as their in-room Guest Services binder still says "open till 10pm."

Shelbourne Dublin

Closed on weekends (although open Friday nights), breakfast coupons for plats.

Also note that the food was very sparse...... a mushroom tart (yum) and a small fish cake were the only two food items.

This weekend, I'm staying at the SF Marriott (on 4th St.), and its lounge is open for breakfast only on Saturday and Sunday. A pleasant surprise!

As I said in another thread, Manchester Airport now has no weekend offerings. Lounge does breakfast Mon - Fri and canapes and alcohol Sun - Thurs. They have a few soft drinks, cookies and a jar of nuts and only seem to replenish twice a day. This is really sad as before Christmas we went 6 times at weekends and had drinks and snacks, now we get a couple of bottles of juice and that is it. Oh and the coffee machine has been out of action for 3 weeks, so no hot drinks on a winter day ...

Just planning a trip to Glasgow and have spotted on the online "room details" that the wonderful lounge there will close Fri am till Sunday pm, no more breakfast, snacks or wine at the weekend. It was always very popular as well. Amazingly they still charge an extra £30 a night for an Exec room, which will be as pokey as a standard room, so £30 a night for a bathrobe and the odd drink.

The Hartleypig household is pretty annoyed as we mainly use Marriott for weekends away and about three weeks hols, so weekend stays we will get nothing for our status at hotels with a CL as the rooms in these are usually the same for Exec and standard. Not at all happy.

Anyone who stays at West India Quay at the weekends: would appreciate info on any changes there. If they take away the brilliant service there we will probably try the new Twickenham Marriott on the other side of London.

Greensboro, North Carolina

I was considering booking a weekend stay at the Greensboro downtown Marriott but called to determine if the lounge is open on weekends. It is not, and breakfast coupons are not offered. I will be staying elsewhere. Does Marriott management follow this thread?

Cedar Rapids Marriott Inquiry

Does anyone have any information on the status of the CL at the Cedar Rapids Marriott?

bdschobel Mar 7, 2009 9:07 pm

Unsticking it

Because of recent changes in Marriott policy, most of the information in this thread is out-of-date, making the thread dangerous to anyone relying on it. I am going to unstick it. We may want to start a new thread with updated information.
