Fall 2017 MegaBonus Terms and Conditions
*A 'stay' is defined as consecutive nights spent at the same hotel, regardless of check-in/check-out activity. [Although the T&Cs don't say it clearly, a stay can be as short as one night.]
• Registration is required.
• Marriott Rewards members who register for this promotion by November 30, 2017 will earn one (1) free night award at a category 1-5 hotel (value of standard free night award ranges from 7,500 points for Category 1 hotels to 25,000 points for Category 5 hotels) after two paid stays* made between September 12, 2017 and January 15, 2018, at participating Marriott® properties.
• If a member completes two qualifying stays during the promotional period, an additional offer may be unlocked and become available in the members account within 2-3 days after the second qualifying stay.
• The member may not receive additional notification except through their online member account and must register for the additional offer within two (2) weeks from the date the additional offer becomes available.
• Maximum one (1) free night award earned with this promotion per member to be redeemed for a future stay at participating Marriott Rewards category 1-5 properties.
• Free night award will expire six (6) months after the date of issuance.
• An earned free night award is good for one (1) single or double occupancy standard room only and includes the cost of the hotel room and applicable room taxes only.
• An earned free night award will be added to the member’s account within 3-5 business days after the second qualifying stay.
• The awarded free night certificate is not transferable and may not be given as a gift.
• Nights spent while redeeming an award are not eligible for credit and Marriott Vacation Club® owner-occupied weeks are not eligible for credit.
• Stays at ExecuStay and Marriott Executive Apartments are not eligible for credit toward this promotion.
• Only one room per hotel is counted toward a member’s nights or stay.
• Members electing to earn miles are not eligible for this promotion.

Damn, I missed the unlock to the 2nd Tier and already have two stays which could be counted towards the 5.
Should I reach out and see if they'll accept the stays or just write them off as lesson learned. I don't hop on my MR account daily so I'll own this one.

Wait a couple of days and see if the stays auto count. The second unlock went out late for many of us yet all stays after earning the cert counted towards second unlock. Or are you saying you can't even register for the s cond unlock?

Marriott might be getting caught up.
My 2nd stay posted this morning, and the new promotion showed up in my account this afternoon, with no intervention on my part.
I also finished up a 3rd stay today, so hopefully no issue in having it count toward the 2nd promotion.
As mentioned several times by others, this all seems unnecessarily complicated for such a weak promotion.

I had to call Marriott and let them know that after I achieved my 10,000 points I was supposed to receive 1,000 additional points for every stay till the promotion ends which I think is January 15th.
I talk to the woman and she puts me on hold to talk to her supervisor and the supervisor tells her I am not signed up for the promotion. I read verbatim the promotion and terms and conditions. She then asks me to take a photo of it and email it to her. I never got a email back but 1,000 points were posted to stays that I should of got 1,000 points for. It will be real interesting to see if I have to call back after my next stay if I don't get 1,000!
Everyone should double and triple check their second offer. If you don't you are missing out on points.

Side note if I did not get my 500 platinum elite points for staying at a Marriott property does that qualify for the $100 guest compensation?

Was also targeted for the 10,000 points for 5 stays. Language in the T&C is as follows:
The member receiving this offer has been specifically targeted and this offer is not transferable.

I received the same offer. Check what the terms are, because mine said another unlock would happen after the stay that gets me 2000 bonus points.

Quick question for anyone who may know. Am planning a quick one day trip this upcoming week. Am thinking of booking the night via Marriott website, and then submitting a LNF claim as I have found same room elsewhere for cheaper.
Would a LNF rate room still qualify towards the promotion or no? Anyone know? I'm still paying for it, just not at the originally advertised rate.

Currently at 1 stay, I have back to back stays next week (2 different hotels). I assume that 3rd stay will count towards whatever my 2nd offer is.
