Fall 2017 MegaBonus Terms and Conditions

*A 'stay' is defined as consecutive nights spent at the same hotel, regardless of check-in/check-out activity. [Although the T&Cs don't say it clearly, a stay can be as short as one night.]

• Registration is required.
• Marriott Rewards members who register for this promotion by November 30, 2017 will earn one (1) free night award at a category 1-5 hotel (value of standard free night award ranges from 7,500 points for Category 1 hotels to 25,000 points for Category 5 hotels) after two paid stays* made between September 12, 2017 and January 15, 2018, at participating Marriott® properties.
• If a member completes two qualifying stays during the promotional period, an additional offer may be unlocked and become available in the members account within 2-3 days after the second qualifying stay.
• The member may not receive additional notification except through their online member account and must register for the additional offer within two (2) weeks from the date the additional offer becomes available.
• Maximum one (1) free night award earned with this promotion per member to be redeemed for a future stay at participating Marriott Rewards category 1-5 properties.
• Free night award will expire six (6) months after the date of issuance.
• An earned free night award is good for one (1) single or double occupancy standard room only and includes the cost of the hotel room and applicable room taxes only.
• An earned free night award will be added to the member’s account within 3-5 business days after the second qualifying stay.
• The awarded free night certificate is not transferable and may not be given as a gift.
• Nights spent while redeeming an award are not eligible for credit and Marriott Vacation Club® owner-occupied weeks are not eligible for credit.
• Stays at ExecuStay and Marriott Executive Apartments are not eligible for credit toward this promotion.
• Only one room per hotel is counted toward a member’s nights or stay.
• Members electing to earn miles are not eligible for this promotion.
• For a list of current Marriott Rewards participating brands, visit https://www.marriott.com/marriott-re...earn/hotels.mi.
• Stays at our exclusive luxury hotel partner, The Ritz-Carlton®, will count toward achievement.
• Rooms booked through most third party online retailers and select travel agency bookings are ineligible to earn for this promotion.
• All Marriott Rewards program terms and conditions apply.
• See https://www.marriott.com/rewards/terms/earning.mi for more information.

Another datapoint : both stays after the first 2 and before the date of registration for the unlock have been counted, and the tracker is showing 4 / 7 (57%) progress. Who cares for T&Cs, eh ?

When I looked the other day it said 2 of 5, but now it says 4 of 7, as yours does.

Points

I already have had 7 stays since I have registered and 10,000 points have been posted to my account!

Now for the Starwood promotion that everyone has been talking about on here. I have never used Starwood didn't know what the promotion was and I had to check in on it.

So with the current Marriott promotion if I stayed at a regular Marriott property and a Sheraton property for $200 each

I am platinum elite!

Marriott $200
$200-2,000 Points
50%-1,000 points= 3,000
500 (Take points instead of food) 3,500
1,000 points- Total of 4,500

Now with Starwood they told me since I am platinum elite status with Marriott I would be platinum elite with SPG but only get 3 points per $1. Where as if I made 75 stays with Starwood I would then get 4 points per $1.

Sheraton
$200- 600 points
Sheraton- 500 Points - 1,1,00
1000 bonus points- Total 2,100

So from what I was told it was a conversion rate of 1 starwood point equals 3 Marriott points.

So from my stay at Sheraton it would be 2,100 points converted to 6,300 Marriott points. Makes more sense to me to stay with SPG

Can someone double check me to make sure this is accurate!

The other thing I wanted to ask. Do you get anything for staying 100 nights with Marriott?

I just received my cat 1-5 certificate, and I have applied it to a pts. stay that I already hade booked at the Bangkok Marriott Hotel Sukhumvit. So they returned 25K points into me account...certificate well used!

The agent told me that there won't be a continuation of the promo and that was it...I have seen conflicting information here.

I have gotten benefits on reward stays at Marriott and IHG, on several occasions.

All you have to do is email the hotel in advance, and they are quite generous. You can't just show up and ask. Take the extra effort to reach out in advance...trust me

No. At some point you might get Premier Platinum, but those are unpublished criteria.

The year I was PP I got a real nice Bluetooth speaker. I, however, can't say I noticed much difference in how I was treated at hotels. In fact, some of the front desk personnel didn't even know there was a difference from just platinum.

I had 124 nights last year and am at 116 this year -- stay at mostly full service Marriotts, JW's and Autograph properties. No PP for me.

100 stays

You would think they would do something for someone with 100 stays. How about instead of 50% extra bonus points you get 75% bonus. Maybe a 30,000 prize for reaching 100!

Data point - 152 nights year to date, guessing > 75% in full service hotels
