I live in Canada and have category 1 - 5 this time around. Megabonuses used to be 1 - 4 for me and the first time I noticed the addition of 5s was the period that just ended.
At the risk of provoking much gnashing of teeth, I can't resist saying - AT LAST, something for non-US addresses that is actually better!

Only saw Cat 1-4 this time and last time for Stay 2 Earn 1
I'm Marriott Silver now due to CC. Same offer before when non-silver

Thanks, I think that outside the US may be offered Cat4 or Cat5, but the Cat5 is ONLY offered to outside the US. Like I said, I'm curious to see a counterexample.

wouldnt let me change promo
I am PP and Lifetime Platinum. Emailed Platinum Premier services and they said yes but have to contact Marriott Rewards. Called them and they said they are not changing it for anyone. Guess I will call again and see if I get a third different answer.

Update us on it please. Same thing happened to me, called to change from points to certs and was told they are not allowed to change the promo anymore.

I finished the 25 nights/50k bonus early Jan. Nothing for me yet for the Spring bonus.
I start a new job tomorrow so I'm holding off contacting MR until I confirm what the travel policy is and where the projects will be.
I noticed from an earlier post that the promo hadn't shown up on line, but the poster had been auto-registered.
Does anyone have experience of this? ie no promo, when you emailed/phoned were you already registered (or not ) and if not were you able to opt for the promo you preferred?

Everyone is assigned one of the promos. There seems to be some IT issues regarding it not showing up for sone people. Noone has ever reported calling in, emailing, or leaving a pm for Marriott Concierge and not then having a promo show up,
There does not seem to be any pattern to those who hsve promos show up automatically and those that don't.
This issue is unrelated to the ability to switch to another promo once you determine which promo you have now. The ability to switch seems entirely dependent on the person you talk to.

can i sign up my children for Marriott Rewards and check them in as the primary room guest in order to earn the 2 for 1 megabonuses? I have lots of travel planned thru June this year and expect to slow down on travel after that for a while. I will be able to max myself and my spouse out fairly quickly and am looking for other ways to take advantage of this.

Update. Talked with MR this morning. The initial "options" are determined by their marketing department. However, she talked to someone and then made a notation on my account that I wanted the Bonus versus the Certs. Said i need to call back 2 weeks after the end of the promotion period and they will manually adjust (including removing any potential certs that were earned). She added notes and her name. Seems like it should be OK, albeit manual, but won't know for certain for several months.

I tried changing the winter megabonus and was told no. Don't see the spring one in my account so no idea what I have for it.

My offer was not showing up in my account, so I contacted MR via online chat. The rep told me I was registered for the 15/20 night promo. Unfortunately, this won't benefit me with this quarter's planned travel.
I asked the online chat rep to switch me to a 2 or 3 free night offer instead but was told no, and told to direct my request to another email address instead ([email protected]). Contacted MR there and was told no again.
May give it one more try via telephone, but if that doesn't work will probably switch over to SPG or HH for the spring.
Oh, and the offer is *still* not showing up in "My Promotions" when I log into my MR account. Go figure...

Good chance I'll be staying overnight this Thursday, checking in on 31 Jan and checking out on 1 Feb. Will that stay count towards the Spring megabonus or will it not?
Thanks,
