I believe not.

Pretty certain the stays have to be during the promo timeframe.
Therefore, a checkout on the day the promo starts would not be a stay on the day the promo starts.

Seems like it should be OK, albeit manual, but won't know for certain for several months.
changing promos most often results in manual changes.

if you have changed to earning certs, you can call and request they be added 1 at a time after earning (and the stay has posted), but for points, yep, you have to just wait it out. Always be sure to get the reps name you spoke with and department (notating the date in your notes for later, if needed).

I will be able to max myself and my spouse out fairly quickly and am looking for other ways to take advantage of this.
IF your children are 18 and over and will be with you to check in, then yes, they may sign up for an account and earn points/miles/ bonus.

IF not 18, your out of luck.

Marriott have become brilliant at leaving weeks without any promotional coverage.

It probably allows them to run three promos each year rather than four (all other chains do four--one each quarter).

Almost nobody even notices--and Marriott still gets voted best program!

According to some posts here on FT, Jan 15 - Feb 1 is a busy period for hotels and therefore no need for promo.

If you have stays in those period - burn your points. For me I burn my pts when there is no megabonus.

Have you looked at the changes made by Priority Club? A lot harder to qualify with the same weak perks. They have made their huge devaluation recently too.

Snap, same here (UK based)

Although this appeared in my promo central:

Whether you're planning a large conference or an intimate soiree, you'll earn double points (up to 100,000) with every event, starting with your next event.
To get rewards faster:
Register by 31 January 2013.
Book your event at any participating Marriott brand between 1 October 2012 and 31 January 2013.
Hold your event between 1 October 2012 and 31 May 2013.
Earn double points (up to 100,000) for every event, starting with your 1st event.
When it comes to your event, the possibilities are endless. And now, with 100,000 points, so are your rewards. Whether its free hotel nights, a day at the spa or USD $500 in meeting credits, your rewards are just an event away.

Do the Cat 1-4 free nights now last one year instead of 6 months? That's what I've heard, but I wanted to verify!

I do not consider Priority Club a good benchmark. In fact--I think the program is irrelevant for upscale travelers living in North America.

Would it really make a big difference to anyone in NA if Priority Club and all it's properties simply vanished off the face of the earth.

Hardly.

Who would miss the gazillion Holiday Inns--the bread and butter for this chain?

As for Intercontinental hotels--it's rare that you come across a WOW property. Maybe there are 10 in the world.

From the standpoint of elites--zero recognition of any kind when staying on points. And even for top elites--there is no such thing as free breakfast (unless the property/brand offers all guest that "perk").

+1
Even some of their historic properties, the ones which should be world class trophies in capitol cities, most of those are crumbling. I stayed in one of those, in Den Haag, which was classically beautiful architecture, two blocks from the Queen's Palace, and it would have been condemned in the US.

I live in Scandinavia and PC does have more properties in Europe. They do have some very impressive ICs - mostly outside the US.

Officially PC doesn't give out elite perks on award stays, and yes that is really bad. However I do get perks on point stays even on their famous 5k per night points break - I got their biggest suites (it was Staybridges and Candlewood) as an upgrade.

Well let's see what the Marriott annual devaluation and hopefully we will have some pleasant surprises.

The crumbling IC hotel I stayed at in Den Haag is now part of SPG's Luxury Collection, and is now fully updated and beautiful. What a shame that IC could not see their way to renovating the hotel. It was an old classic, now it is an updated old classic.

ADD EDIT: Sorry for going a bit far off topic, although it started as a valid comparison to a competing program.

Is everyone supposed to get an offer? I just finished the winter one, but nothing has shown up via email or promo central for a spring megabonus.

18 pages of posts indicates that everyone should get an offer and if not to contact them.

Do some due diligence, IHC! @:-)
