I have been getting:
We’re sorry, but there was an error in directing you to this promotion.
The reason for this error could be:
•You’re trying to access a miles promotion and are a points-earner, or vice versa
•You are not eligible for this promotion
•This promotion has expired
Updating your earning preference is fast and easy; simply sign into your account. For all other issues, please contact Marriott Rewards Customer Support.
when I click on the link and it does not show up on my Promotion Central.
I guess I am not wanted for 1Q :-(

why??????
from reading though most of these threads that wouldn't stop most FTers who are looking for a difference, even the slightest, between that of what a call to MR says and what others post here in order to start a "situation" and then demand compensation..............

Every member who is logged in to Marriott and does not see a spring bonus could click on contact US and type
I do not have a Spring Megabonus
In less time than it takes to come here, find the thread, and complain. I applaud their efforts to keep US informed but urge them to do the above as well since it will lead to a result.

MegaBonus BS marketing
I didn't have time to read through all 10+ pages of this thread so apologize if this was covered. On Friday I received a marketing piece in the mail from Marriott regarding Megabonus. The hotels they featured look beautiful, so I looked a few up online. The cover shows the San Diego Marriott Del Mar...Cat 5. Inside cover, St. Kitts Marriott Resort & The Royal Beach Casino....Cat 5. Next up the Renaissance Naples Hotel Mediterraneo...Cat 5. I didn't bother checking the last few.
Marriott, why do you feature hotels that I can't stay at with the Cat 4 certificates you are are offering me on this promo?

I'm Plat with Marriott, so how much more do I need to stay? I earn enough points that I stayed at the Paris Champs-Elysees (cat 8) on points for 5 nights last year and another 3 nights in ( cat 7) Cap d-Ail. And the last hotel I dream about is a Marriott. If I have to spend 75 nights a year in a cat 4 for work why on earth would I spend my free time at a cat 4? These certs are useless and my comment was that the marketing was B.S. to promote Cat 5 hotels when I'm offered Cat 4 reward.

Yes, you are a Plat, but that does not mean that you can't use the certs, or give them away as gifts. I personally do not care for the Cat. 4 certs, only because I feel as you do, that in many cities, most of the Cat. 4 hotels are not terribly attractive or interesting to me, and therefor, limiting. However, there are many people, on this and other threads, who do not agree, and feel that there are MANY decent Cat. 4 hotels. Considering how much you do not like the Cat. 4 certs, have you considered calling MR to ask for a different promo for the coming Spring 2013 MegaBonus period?

Just checking one city, Los Angeles, and picking out three hotels where I have stayed in the last two years, here are three quick samples of truly NICE Cat. 1-4 hotels:
Renaissance LAX is a Cat. 4 hotel I stay in frequently, and it is a truly nice hotel, which freely gives suite upgrades to Plats, going back at least 8 years (I first stayed there for a professional conference held in their meeting rooms in 2004, and stayed as recently as four times in 2011, with a suite upgrade every time across 9 or 10 stays).
Courtyard Los Angeles Westside is a Cat. 3 Los Angeles hotel where I have stayed, and for a CY, it is VERY nice.
Manhattan Beach Marriott is another Cat. 4 hotel I have stayed at, and is a nice hotel in a very nice location, close to great restaurants and movie theaters, and they freely give suite upgrades to Plats.
It really is not difficult to find nice Cat. 1-4 hotels in most cities, NYC and HNL being notable exceptions, although in NYC, those hotels exist, they just are not in nice locations.

After keyword searching this thread for 10 min, I have some answers and questions:
- RMPearl and Skyteam777 were able to switch from the points promo to the "stay 6" promo. But the rep told them they would track it manually and member will need to call back. Anyone switched to the promo so that it tracks and earns free nights automatically with every other stay?
- If you sign up on 3/15 (the promo registration deadline), do all your previous nights count retroactively? My travel plans might have me "stay 20 nights" or "stay 25 nights." It will be great to be able to choose the larger promo if you end up traveling more.
