The agent likely could see your timeshare. I haven't heard recent reports of 5 night packages without owning timeshares.

I called twice, hoping to get a 5 night but couldn't even get someone to help me with the 7 night.

First guy gave me the number to Marriott Vacations.

They sent me back, said I needed to book the hotel stay and then would be transferred back to get air miles.

HACU, got another rep on the gold line, had to put me on hold, got a similar story. I needed to have dates and hotel picked out and then would be transferred to Marriott Vacations.

I sincerely hope this is on my and I'm calling the wrong numbers.

Similar situation for me - within the last hour a family member (no status) called the number for Marriott Rewards listed on the website and was told almost the same thing (a reservation needed to be made before they could do anything else). I was hoping not to have to get directly involved, but we will see.

Edit: I will try the number listed in the previous post and report back.

2nd Edit: The number above should work fine. However, if you are trying to combine points between accounts you either a) have to be moving 50000 pts or less, or b) you have to make (or be ready to make) a reservation for the hotel stay first.

So no way to do online? I shudder at the thought of having to explain and transfer information over the phone to some 1/2 enthused CSR...

You can move points online from Marriott to SPG and then make a request online to transfer points between SPG accounts at the same address, but there is no guarantee that SPG will complete the transfer without asking for proof of the same residency.

My bad, I was referring to ordering the travel package online with my existing MR points. Every other special package seems to be able to do online except for these.

I don't think you will find those guys working in MR. In my experience, they have been the most professional, helpful, friendliest group of CSR I have ever dealt with.

For those who missed it, Southwest changed their Companion Pass program so that points transferred from hotels do not count any more. Either see post #1471 above or the following thread in the Southwest forum:

Oops. I've been corrected--see the posts below.

Southwest announced a 3-month reprieve on January 4. We now have a hard deadline of March 31, 2017.

You are way behind the curve. :)

Southwest caved in on the no notice change. Yesterday it made a concession on the no notice thing. Now March 31st is the deadline for those who want the CP.

Oops--my bad! Fixed my post above.

Is the 5 night Marriott travel package available to all Marriott members now? I recall some old blog posts noting it was just for timeshare owners or elites. I'm shy of the the number of Marriott points for the 7 night package but can afford the 5 night Marriott travel package to get the SW companion pass.

I see answers the above now. Thx
