I think this is just a trend to cut costs by cutting housekeeping staff hours. At SR Singapore, they did turndown while I was out of the room at about 5 pm. I politely complained. I don't want all the drapes drawn at 5 pm while it's still light out and I have a nice view.

I think they probably tend to do departures first so those rooms are ready for new guests, but you can just call the operator and request housekeeping whenever you want it.
It's possible that housekeeper was leaving for the day maybe, but they have others working all the time. Either way I don't think you should have been told "no". So maybe it was a misunderstanding. And yes, there certainly is a separate turndown service at the SGS.

The turndown service is normally between about 5pm and 6pm and has been for many years. Therefore for me it is totally pointless as it is the time I am normally resting in my room with the DND light on so virtually never get the turndown service. But that is not an issue for me.
Definitely cleaning the vacated rooms is the top priority to get them available for arriving guests. After that it does seem to vary from day to day when they clean the rooms, one day it will be cleaned at 10am the next 3pm. .

Has anyone tried pre-purchasing meal vouchers on the SGS online store? I have two questions and I have reached out to them on social media but they haven’t gotten back to me. Thanks in advance!
- Can I purchase the vouchers on the same day, provided that the restaurant is not booked out? I noticed the voucher is delivered by email so I guess it arrives in your mail box pretty much instantly?
- Are these online F&B purchases still eligible for Starpoint earnings?

Thank you for your interest in purchasing meal vouchers through our SGS online store. With regard to your please see response below.
1. Vouchers are recommended to be purchased 24 hrs in advance with reservation. However, should there be availability on the same day, vouchers can also be purchased on the day before arrival.
2. Meal vouchers purchased through our online store are eligible for Starpoint earnings.

Checked in last night at wee hours and I was immediately reminded why I liked this place so much. Front desk was surprisingly busy even at that hour, but we were warmly welcomed and escorted directly to the (surprisingly upgraded) suite for check in.
My last stay was (regretfully) 10 months ago, so I’m not sure when this change was implemented or whether this is mentioned upthread, but cocktail hours at the Living Room is now a whooping 4 hours (4-8pm)! Now you’re just trying to show off, SGS!
Starting to regret splitting my stay in Bangkok with the Park Hyatt (first time there), should’ve just stayed here the whole trip.

Wow! Just finished breakfast at Rossini's, and I ordered the French Toast from the menu. I must say this is the best French Toast I have ever had.
While I had been regretting not taking the buffet again today ( I missed the cottage cheese and olives), this " Carmelized Brioche French Toast"
was absolutely superb!
