Already have a suite but was hoping for GC. I stay here every summer, and can never remember if they have it or not. I was here during Hurricane Sandy and was extremely impressed by the service. I've tried other Starwood hotels in the area but this hotel is my home away from home. Too bad about MAGC, though. That would've been nice!

Is this not offered here?

There is nothing internal that suggests that it is.

It's not per post #301. I don't even think it comes up as an option when you book

Two quick updates:
-they redid the gym yesterday. Nicely updated machines. Fewer, I think, due to some being larger but all working so likely net increase in number of available machines. Just affected cardio as far as I could tell.

-New elevator system wherein you now enter your floor number and it tells you which one to use. I rarely use it to just hop down to gym (I'm local), but nice to alleviate congestion in lobby.

Can I cram 5 in a room here?

Considering taking my spouse and 3 kids here for one night. I know the rooms are small. Will it be physically possible to fit a sleeping bag on the floor. We would get a room with 2 doubles.

Not asking if it will be pleasant, I just want to know if it is physically possible. My 7 year old is fine sleeping on the floor for a night.

Yes, s/he should fit either at the foot of the bed nearest window (to avoid being stepped on en route to bathroom) or between the beds.

Breakfast Options for PLT at this property?

Does anyone have recent experience with breakfast options for PLT members at this property?

I have looked back through 2015 in the posts but only find a reference to continental breakfast at Starbucks café.

Can you get discount for full breakfast in restaurant as PLT breakfast?

Any information would be appreciated.

Mentioned the clock issue in my other thread, we stayed just Saturday night here (points, NYC is very expensive this week). Hotel was full, the Clinton Global Initiative conference starts today and there was signage all over the lobby. They also moved the luggage check area from that little room in the back of the lobby up to the 6th floor, and were using the guest rooms to the north of the elevators for storage.

We were given a room on a Non-SPG floor (25 -- got to use those special elevators in that bank for once) that had no waters in it, but we were ok with that as we hardly spent any time in the room.

Odd thing was that we went out to b'fast around 9AM. Came back at 9:45 and there was a Do Not Disturb sign on our door, which we hadn't put up (ours was still inside the room). We brought that sign into the room as we planned to check out at 10AM. At 9:50 there was a knock on the door, I said "just a few minutes" and housekeeping came in anyway. I repeated "Just a few minutes" and we left a few minutes later. I'm guessing housekeeping had stopped by when we were at b'fast and put the sign on the door for their own purposes.

When I spoke with the manager about the clock issue I mentioned that housekeeping had stopped by twice even though we hadn't checked out yet, he seemed concerned, but I'm not sure how concerned. Said he'd give us some points for the clock, water, and housekeeping issues.

Breakfast is in lounge only. And it ends early and is terribly crowded. Don't choose this hotel based on it, but it's better than nothing (or an aLoft).

I was leaning toward the Element but the reviews on TripAdvisor are not too flattering. It seems there are lots of maintenance problems (and I have had the same on my stay there last year).

Now that I can value the points better with the 1->3 conversion rate for my 5 night stay, I guess all the Marriott midtown properties are 160,000 MR points (53,333 SPG) while 2 Downtown Marriotts are at 140,000 MR (46,667 SPG points) instead of 48,000 for the Element. I am starting to lean toward a Marriott property or the Sheraton Time Sq...

Choices choices...

i spend over a dozen nights at the element times square every year....besides the crowded & slow elevators issue, i have not faced any other problem....to counter the elevator issue, i have now started requesting rooms on lower floors & have gotten rooms on the 2nd & 3rd floors for my last few stays....no need to use elevators as i can simply walk up to my room....

I stayed there one time and much prefer the neighborhood around the Sheraton. As for the club lounge, the coffee, soda and water are abundant and plentiful and the Pick a Bagel at 53rd and 8th has a great breakfast.
