I first posted about the Westin Costa Navarino in Dec 2008. Amazingly, the forecast opening date does not seem to have been far off.

The Westin Costa Navarino (Cat5)

The Romanos, Costa Navarino (Cat5)

The Sheraton Rhodes (Cat4)

Most visitors might be inclined to get there via Athens. I would think that it might be more affordable to get there via Turkey. After taking an all-Starwood trip last May to Athens, Santorini, and Crete, I'll be interested to see the trip reviews as folks start visiting Rhodes.

I wonder if that's just a placeholder (ie, they intend to open a luxury collection hotel, but haven't yet decided on the name) or if they intend to call it that. If that is the name, it seems like quite a departure from the Luxury Collection brand, which is normally great hotels with a more "local" feel. After all, SLS in California and Hotel Imperial in Vienna are the same brand, but are a very different vibe. However, both fit the "feel" of the local area.

I don't know anything more about this property than what I posted above. If it weren't for the Jan 2011 date on the New Properties list, I'd think that maybe it was an error and that the name actually corresponds to the Sheraton Ankara, A Luxury Collection Hotel (which has been open for some time). But since the Jan 2011 date is there, I don't know.

This one seems to still be in play. The city of Richmond Heights is still supporting this effort by the developer. Like many developers, he's having trouble finding lenders.
