Thumbs up The W Barcelona to open 1rst October 2009

Since the hotel was originally supposed to open in 2008, then moved to April of 2009, we wouldn't be surprised to see the opening date for October 1st date moved again

They left the Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide family of hotels on December 31, 2008. What they became afterwards, I have no idea.

btw- for all who noticed the Sheraton Cleveland Airport, actually didn't deactivate and the Dhaka Sheraton deactivation was pushed back to the end of Q2.

as for what they became, the Four Points Williamsburg is now a Clarion, Meridien Damascus is now part of Turkish chain Dedeman Hotels, the Palace in Copenhagen is Scandic, The Sheraton Mencey went to Iberotel and the Sheraton New Bern, NC will convert to Hilton soon.

The Le Meridien Pegasus in Guyana, Le Meridien Chia Laguna in Sardinia, and the Westin Soberano are all independents now.

The four Israeli Sheratons left today, the Lansing Sheraton becomes a Lexington tomorrow.

The Four Points Montreal Centre-ville left a while ago to become a dorm. Wigwam is now part of Destination Hotels & Resorts and the Le Meridien Haifa is now part of Leonardo Hotels.

Anyone know what become of the Le Meridien Commodore?
