Bonus for both husband and wife?

I'm sure this answer is somewhere in these 15 pages but I searched and couldn't find the definitive reply.

I already have the SPG AMEX, got the 10,000 bonus but didn't make it to the 15,000 spending level so I missed out on that. Now my husband wants to apply for the card. He will be able to meet the 15,000 spending so it will be a good deal for him.

However, I added him to my account last year so he already has a card (his name but my account), plus he already has another AMEX card from a financial institution.

Will he receive the 10,000 plus 15,000 SPG bonus points if he gets his own SPG AMEX card?

I received this but Time Warner - California was not one of the choices, so I assume it was a master mailing that everyone won't be able to take advantage of. If anyone is aware of a different slant on this, I would love to know.

Yes, your husband can get his own card and qualify for his own bonus. Assuming you both have the same address on your respective Starwood accounts, you can subsequently consolidate your Starwood points in one or the other's account.

Also, if you own your own business, you can each get business Starwood cards, and get the bonuses for those cards.

Starwood AMEX question

I got the Starwood/AMEX in June of 2007. I noticed that Starwood downgraded me from Gold to Preferred recently. I was under the impression that the AMEX card would maintain me at Gold level. Anybody have info on this?

Starwood Preferred Guest Credit Card from American Express cardholders get Preferred Plus, unless they spend 30K per year on the card or exceed the elite status-earning stay thresholds for Gold (10/25). If you don't qualify for Gold either of these two ways, I would at least call back and ask to be upgraded back to Preferred Plus.

You are thinking of Amex Platinum... That gives SPG gold...

Offer for 10,000 + 15,000 bonus miles still good?

The link on the SPG website only offers the 10,000 bonus for first purchase.

The same thing happened to me after spending well over $30k BEFORE Dec 31st. I was gold until the renewal of my fee the beginning of this month. A phone call straightened it out and I was immediately put back to Gold.I think it must be a glitch in the system because if Dec 31st is the deadline, then you should have it for the entire next year while you are spending again that year to get it for the following year. At first they tried to tell me it was until the renewal date, but I told them it made no sense to be given Gold for less than 3 months for spending $30K. Once convinced, it was changed within minutes.

Yes, it is still an active promotion, but not if you go directly to the SPG or AMEX websites.

Ditto. On March 1st, I was downgraded despite spending over $30K on my SPG AMEX in 07. One call fixed this and spg.com shows me as gold again. Of course, it takes 6-10 weeks to get a new card so I'll be going to the new W in Istanbul in April without a current gold card hoping for an upgrade.

There does seem to be a glitch in the system.

Thanks, I already have a link for this promo and it didn't have an expiration date listed. I just wanted to be sure the bonus points would really be offered if I apply.

Yep, if you are clicking a link and getting that deal, rest assured it's still a valid offer :)

Amex points posting

Is anyone experiencing a delay in the posting of their monthly points earned from dollars spent on the SPG Amex? Typically the points seems to post within 3-5 days of the end of the statement period. This month however its been 8 days for me since closing and they have not yet posted.

No, mine posted 2 days after my statement date this month, still waiting for my sign up bonus points, today is 12 weeks and I was promised it twice within this time frame and still nothing.
