For all of you current or former military people, USAA accepts credit cards - either as a one time deal or a recurring charge.

Would I be a TRUE FT'er if I got $10,000,000 coverage just for the points??!!

Allstate also allows credit card premium payments, including AMEX if you do it online. It's a rather clumsy interface, and takes a couple days to process (so don't do it on the actual due date), but you can do it. They also now allow automatic recurring payments, either monthly or in-full, to an AMEX.

They'll take credit cards over the phone as well.

You should receive those points posted to your spg account in August or the latest September. It's usually one or two billing cycles before it's posted. Hope you don't need to book a reward room sooner. If you do, buying spg points may be an option depending on how many you need. Unfortunately, Starwood will not allow you to reserve rooms using points unless you already have them in your account, even though you are expecting points.

My first statement closed 2 days ago and I paid the balance, but my starwood points have not posted. I called Amex and they said it takes 8 - 12 weeks from time of purchase (which was on July 14). How long has it take for anyone to receive their bonus points?

I just got the 10,000 bonus points only a couple of days after the first statement.

I got mine posted a couple of days after the closing of my first statement around 19 July.

I just got 4 referral cards and so did a friend. So I guess there's a new promotion. But the normal offer on the americanexpress website is now 10K, so these referral offers aren't especially helpful for the recipient right now, they only benefit the referrer.

My wife just received these referral cards as well but the recipient still gets 10K for signing up for the Amex card and the referrer gets 5K. The only thing the recipient wouldn't get that is currently offerred is 15K for $15K in spend during the first year.

I disagree. I've been paying GEICO by credit card for probably 10 years.

I just got an AX card. It took about a week to get it after applying...not bad!

They sent me two though. One with all the paperwork and the other, in a seperate envelope, looks like a replacement card. I've got to call and see which one to activate.

I did so the first time I paid over the phone, then after that they wouldn't let me anymore unless I used their Geico credit card. Did you have it on automatic payment or something?

Any experience with churning this card

I used to have this card but cancelled it more than a year back. The 25K bonus points offer is very tempting and hence want to reapply. Does anybody have experience with churning this card and getting the bonus again.

Is the red credit card standard or can I also get a platinum version?

The red card is the only card available--they discontinued calling it platinum due to the confusing nature of a platinum credit card and the platinum spg membership that comes with 25 or more stays at spg hotels.

I added on another cardholder to my account to get 2500 bonus points, about a week ago. I wonder how long it will be until the points post?
