Thanks for your experiences!

I've used SNAs twice there... both for 5+ night stays. Both times, I was upgraded to an Executive Suite (living room, separate bedroom, two bathrooms).

Le Meridian is a nice hotel, Park Lane is in a better location but only a 5 min walk away, reno is another 6-9 months from being done..hotel is very dated(Mayfair one of my favorite neighborhoods)...W is in the middle of their Theater/Entertainment district..very busy and noisy

Wow, what a disappointment this place is. From what I have seen only the public areas really lives up to the LeMeridien brand values. The rooms are so tired as to be bordering on depressing.

Room on the 3rd floor so not a refurbished one (did they seriously only refurb 2 floors?) Frankly it is barely better than a B&B in paddington. The old wooden furniture is like the cheap tat one might buy in a second hand furniture store, there is damp showing through the pain on the walls, the bathroom barely has any amenities and there is no separate shower cubicle - in a junior suite.

The breakfast in the club lounge (which is more like a waiting room) was so paltry I assumed one had to order the real food. That is certainly possible, but at extra charge. What a joke.

My corporate rate was a 'bargain' of GBP 250 versus the list price of GBP 350+ for the cheapest rooms when I was staying. I know hotels in London are insanely priced but I could have done so much better for my money.

Location is great but I wouldn't dream of staying at this place unless I was guaranteed a refurb room.

I only stayed here because by SNA cleared for the largest suite they have on upgrades. The room was ok. Very dated but large with a squeaky floor but two full bathrooms. Service here terrible. Lounge sucks. Like you said well, and they barely try. The location is great and management didnt impress me either. At 6PM the front desk clerk was trying to tell me my room was not ready. That was not going to happen. AVOID.

I spend a few nights here on business recently.

SNA didn't clear, as the hotel was fully booked out. Instead, I got one of the larger Club rooms, which was great and felt more like a junior suite. Lots of floor space, a sofa and two comfy chairs.

I really like the club breakfast for a few reasons. First of all, I travel enough that I'm not interested in huge (buffet) breakfasts anymore. When in London, I have big lunches and dinners every day, so I prefer a light breakfast, typically a nice coffee with a good croissant. The club breakfast is perfect for that. Nice pastries, a good coffee machine, juices and other lighter items. Not particularly crowded either: Most of the time, I had the lounge to myself.

Overall I was very happy with my stay, so I'll continue to stay here. I spend most of my time in Soho, which is a convenient walk from the hotel.

I also like the breakfast at the LMP.

I have found that how crowded the Lounge is depends on the time of the morning. At 7am the Lounge is almost always largely empty. By 8am typically less than ten people. Between 9 and 10 am it is often crowded ,often by families with young kids.

How big are the regular rooms at Le Meridien Piccadilly? Last time, I got a smaller room under the room, which felt tiny. They said I had been upgraded, but it didn't feel like it.

I'm about to take my wife and 2 little kids to London for a week.

I'm not sure what you mean by "a smaller room under the room". But one of the things about the LMP is that there is a huge amount of variation in the rooms there. Some may find that to be one of its charming qualities, some may find it annoying. There are some small rooms there, and some rather large ones.

I've found that some of the larger rooms are ones without great views (and sometimes interior-facing), and to get a good view (e.g., a high floor looking toward Parliament, the Eye, etc.) are sometimes a little bit smaller. If you don't care about the view, let them know in advance that you would prefer a larger room rather than a view. I've found that as a Plat, they're usually pretty good at accommodating my preferences (I personally prefer a good view). Of course, I've also stayed close to 100 nights there over the last 5-6 years.

Also, a small handful of the rooms (even ones that are not considered junior suites) have a sofa with a pull-out bed, which might be useful with your little ones in tow. If it's not too full while you're there, and you get the right FD agent, you might see if you can score one of those rooms.

I agree that the hotel is not as impressive as a typical Le Meridien, but we stayed there for a few nights on our very first trip to the UK and were blown away by the location. I think location alone is worth the extra cost. We later moved to St. Ermine's and had a totally different and positive experience but I would still recommend this property for location alone.

Thank you for the insightful comments, that makes a lot of sense. I meant to write a "small room under the ROOF". The smaller room on a high floor did have nice views, but as a tall person, I found it inconvenient.

I'll definitely ask for a larger room with the family. I had a junior suite once, but thought the layout was a bit strange with a long hallway. Maybe that was that particular room.

Terrible and Tricky restaurant

I would like to share terrific experience about dining in your SPG 5 star***** hotel in Piccadilly,I had bought some deal coupons from www.groupXX.co.uk which announced dining in theme Weekend Brunch included 2 main dishes and 1 dessert for each person.
But yesterday on 8th April 2017, the restaurant changed their menu instant in to B&T theme instead without prior notice, they give me only 1 afternoon tea set.Very disapointed ..they charged me for full weekend brunch meal but served me only 1 afternoon tea set for 2 persons.

PS.1) Before go to have dining ,I had already reconfirm about their menu of Weekend brunch with the hotel's restaurant directly but they said no any changes on their menu.
2) Before I bought any vouchers I had already seen the menus in spg.com ,hotel's website and then I had decided to buy the vouchers in theme of Luxury Weenkend brunch. However now the hotel had changed their menus and theme in B&T in their website too.
