According to their website they are only 20 percent remodeled. They must be doing one room at a time.

I stayed there in the middle of May and I can tell you that it is LOUD during the day. Each room is given a few pairs of ear plugs and in the gym they had a dispenser for them also. They are doing half the hotel rooms at once, so we should see a HUGE jump in the renovation progress when they re open that half and start the other.

Don't be surprised in how bad of shape the rooms are from the non renovated side, they have stopped caring for them.

Thanks. You just saved me from a huge headache as I'm flying in from CA and will need to sleep in due to jetlag/time change. Cancelled my reservation. ^

What is shocking to see, is that despite the ongoing reno and above-mentioned inconveniences their rates are possibly at an all-time high. London hotels must be doing very well indeed...

Any one have any updates on the reno at this property? I'm planning a trip to London fir late October and this would be a great use of some SPG points, but if they are still putting people in the old rooms I'll spend the points and go with the Le Merdian.

I'm heading there soon and I'll report back. However I'm Platinum and I won't know how they treat Golds.

Just to verify: Since the hotel does not have Sheraton in its name...is it still considered one in regard to the redemption of the free-weekend promotion?

If so, what would be my chance to get SNAs applied to get one of their Junior Suites that are offered (stay would be in December)? Looking for a room that has a bed plus a sleeper sofa, and it seems that Junior Suites are the only ones that have that setup...

Greetings - Dirk

If you were to go to spg.com and enter London, UK as the destination and click on Search, you can further narrow the parameters by selecting hotels by brand. In this case, Sheraton, and there are three. Further examination show that The Park Lane Hotel, London is part of the Sheraton brand.

So, yes...this hotel is participating in Sheraton Free Weekends.

There are three suites types used for SNA purposes at this property:

Studio Suite
Art Deco Suite
Park View Suite

The Art Deco Suite and Park View Suite description says that one rollaway can be brought in, apparently for no extra charge.

I cannot find any "Junior Suites" used for SNA purposes, so you may want to limit your choice to the Art Deco Suite and Park View Suite.

I hope that helps.

Thanks, William! I mixed suite-types up - the studio is the one room-type that has a sleeper sofa, so that would be my preferred choice over a rollaway bed in one of the other suites available for SNAs.

That said, when redeeming the Sheraton Free Weekend awards - will I be able to apply SNAs to such a reservation? Thanks for your feedback on this...

Greetings - Dirk

I think the Studio Suite is the best of the old type rooms even though you lack the visual separation between living room and bedroom. I did think the other suites had a sofabed in the living room though.

Hi Dirk,

In my review posted up-thread in Oct 2013 I mentioned there was a sofa bed in our Park View Suite and my son thought it was the most comfortable one he'd every slept on. Did they remove them during the renovation?
