If I recall correctly the hot tub is on the a raised platform on the pool deck.
Its been a few years but the staff there was always super helpful. One time my son had a stomach virus (brought from home) and needed a doctor. They had a security guard drive in front of us and lead us to the children's hospital. It's our go to hotel in DF.

That is correct it is located on the raised platform and used to be a nice way to unwind in the evening before bed.

I am surprised that this hotels has kepts things closed like the lounge and the hot tub (according to the website) when things are open pretty much everywhere right now.

It is surprising because this hotel used to be really about providing good customer service.

Not Bonvoy cost savings.

If the hot tub was on the raised platform at the pool deck, then it was closed when I was here early this summer. You can see it on the right of this picture - they had it set up for yoga with mats and towels.

That aside, I thought the JW Marriott Mexico City was fantastic - in the Top 5% of Marriott hotels I have ever stayed in. The rooms were renovated and modern, the hotel was very quiet, and the replacements for the lounge were likely even better than the lounge - you could get free breakfast in the restaurant or via room service each day and the buffet in the restaurant was excellent with over 20 types of fruit; smoked salmon; numerous types of ham and cheese; made-to-order omelets and pancakes; a full hot buffet with bacon, hashbrowns, Mexican entrees; and made-to-order espresso drinks. There was also complementary full dinner provided in the restaurant for elite members - you could order off a menu with several choices of appetizer, salad, soup, entree, and dessert. I would gladly come back to the hotel and highly recommend it.

Good to know about the replacements for the lounge being of good quality.

Maybe my wife and will stay there regardless, I considered the Intercontinental and the Hyatt, but they are both more expensive than the J.W. Marriott for the dates my wife and I are going to be in CDMX.

I would absolutely pick the JW over the Hyatt. I stayed at both and much preferred the JW, especially due to the high bed quality. The restaurant offerings at the JW were better than the lounge offerings at the Hyatt.

Just recently stayed here over New Year’s weekend. My upgrade to a corner suite was really just to a room with a much better view of the park. Definitely not a “suite” by any means. Wi-Fi coverage in the room with somewhat sparse. Service at the hotel was great, but the service in the restaurant in the mornings for breakfast was noticeably slow, unless you just did the buffet. The hack there is to order room service. You get a 615 MXP allowance to order off the menu (though we were not charged for the additional amount over this). All done through the app and get you out the door in into Mexico City much faster each day.

Had a great two night stay here recently. Noticed I was upgraded to a junior suite in the app the day before arrival. It turned out to be on the bridge overlooking the park and auditorium, identical to the room pictured in post #13 above by ElevatorEnthusiast, so I won't bother posting more pictures. We really liked the room, they did a great job with the reno.

At check-in we were proactively offered a 4pm late checkout, though unfortunately couldn't take advantage of it as we had a mid-day flight to catch. Elite breakfast is still in the restaurant (I didn't enquire about room service), and the lounge has reopened for afternoon snacks (11am-5pm) and evening hors d'oeuvres (5pm-10pm). We stopped by for a glass of wine and the hot items looked decent, but we didn't eat anything as we had dinner plans elsewhere. There was also a nice selection of snacks so we did grab a few things to take back to the room. The staff in the lounge were very helpful and friendly. We also spent a couple of hours soaking up the sun on the pool deck one afternoon. The hot tub is still non-existent and perhaps has been permanently decommissioned (the space was still set up for yoga). The pool was kept quite warm though - definitely did not want to get out once you were in there.

Overall it's a very nice property with great service, and great elite recognition. I'd definitely stay here again.

Has the club lounge here reopened? Do you still have to pay for evening drinks?

Recently stayed one night here (on New Year's Eve) and booked a standard room for 43k (I used a 35k free night + 8k points). We booked this months in advance to get a pretty good point rate. We arrived around 4pm and were upgraded to a junior suite (with Titanium status). We asked about the higher suites and told that there was a corner room but it wasn't available for another hour. Understandable as they were pretty booked. We took the junior suite which had a great view and a separate tub in the bathroom (we heard this was special). We received a small bottle of wine and fruit/chocolate to celebrate New Years.

We chose breakfast as the welcome gift - it was in the restaurant and had a nice variety of hot dishes (both classic American and Mexican), fruits, yogurts, and baked items.

The lounge is open on the 5th floor. We have stayed here before in 2018 and it seems like they've renovated the lobby and lounge completely. It used to be on a higher floor and was a lot nicer. This lounge is small but had a good variety of snacks from 11am - 5pm and dinner 5pm - 9pm. Snacks had small sandwiches, cookies, cheese and crackers (we didn't try). Dinner had a few hot options, baked fish, pasta, chicken as well as fruit, salad. Dinner was pretty good. There is also free soft drinks, bottled water and house white/red wine. Service was excellent even though the lounge was average.

A couple of complaints:
1) When we arrived the door to a drawer attached to the desk was falling off the hinges and complete detached when I tried to close it. I called to the lobby and maintenance fixed it. Not a big deal but for a JW it's pretty poor.
2) There were a couple of pieces of trash in the room - a plastic wrapper, a candy wrapper around when we arrived. Overall it didn't feel super clean and pristine.
3) We were there for one night with confirmed 4pm checkout and thus didn't expect housekeeping. At 9:20am New Year Day, housekeeping came - rang the door bell and yelled housekeeping immediately before quickly trying to open the door. After a late night celebrating the countdown, this was terrible - we scrambled to get dressed and answered. I complained immediately and was offer 5k points. This really isn't anything but I accepted it. For me this never happened so early before and especially at a so called luxury option like a JW, they really should better time housekeeping to not disturb guests. Most importantly I was checking out so why would they even come.

Overall, not bad for what the point redemption but I certainly would not pay 70k or ~$800 (what looks to be fairly normal pricing for this hotel) for this.

I have stayed at the JW Marriott in the Polanco many times and I have never personally seen rates in the $800 range, if they are trying to charge that much now, they have lost their minds, it is a nice hotel, but it is not $800 nice.

If they are going to charge that much, I will stay at the Four Seasons which Imho is the nicest hotel in CDMX.

JW Marriott Hotel Mexico City Polanco, Mexico [Master Thread]

Does anyone have an email for the concierge or Front Desk? I can't find one online and my cell can't call there for some reason.

Any suggestions for a family of 4 (2 teen boys) of things to do nearby or at the hotel. Thanks!

Ate at the lounge last night. Food was above average, although not spectacular by any means. A chicken dish, a fish dish, roasted veggies, polenta, 2 different types of salad.

Wine was free, along with water (still and sparkling), a few different types of soft drinks. I didn't ask about beer.
