ambassador guest here, stayed at that property more than once. Even the WOW Suite is a bit disappointing. No luggage racks in room, the bathroom had no shower towel hooks, and the shower had a tiny shower head mounted at a 45 angle and not tall - definitely not the Heavenly Bath standards.

Elite check-in queue usually not present or honored, management response to onsite issues was disappointing.

The onsite bar isn’t bad though!

Overall service was not up to W standard, IMO.
Most of staffs were not professional and helpful. Check-in agent did not provide any info at all. Just confirmed my booking, asked me to choose platinum amenity, asked for my credit card and handed me 2 keycards.
Housekeeping service was a disaster. Not servicing room properly. They delivered requested things by placing those items on the floor in front of the room door.
Advertised in-room amenities not provided (ex. slippers), after requested, they said none available.
No umbrella provided. (Asked for it at front desk, almost always not available.)
Poor breakfast buffet. (You can choose either breakfast buffet or 17$ credit/person for anything on the menu as platinum amenity.)
No espresso coffee available, they said the machine was broken.

maybe i was expecting too much because I’m quite familiar with the better Ws in other part of the world. Anyway, Those issues mentioned above seems to be ‘normal’ for many 4 stars hotels in US.

btw, sorry for poor english.

Wow, sorry to hear.

(Your English is great! And I’m sure it’s vastly better than whatever my ability might be to in any way utter even a few words of whatever might be your native tongue!)

Comments: With the new manager the hotel's service level seems to be skyrocketing. Perfect service from front-desk to butler to the staff at the social bar!

I hope you’ll share more details about your stay and this new manager in the StR Shanghai thread!

Comments: While it wasn't a suite, I was really happy with the room. It was spacious and nicely decorated, very classy, with a really nice view (room was on 25th floor). The bathroom, did feel a bit dated though as it seemed the marble was not replaced during the renovation. But overall was still very happy with the room and the stay.

Comments:
Preupgraded to jr suite 5 days out .. further upgraded to executive suite 3 days out.
Property a bit tired but well maintained.
The service was good.

Some government officials held a major event in the hotel during the stay.
Property have 145 rooms and 11 suites and seems full as shown on apps availability.

Apparently I have more luck with suite upgrade at these lesser brands.
I guess some property does put efforts in fulfilling elite benefits while some are not.

Comments: Fantastic property, great upgrade. Agreed to a 4 pm check-out then gave me the upgrade, which I felt was especially generous. They have 40 suites and 20 guest rooms, so odds of a suite upgrade are pretty good.

Comments: nice stay/hotel. Only 4 suites, all booked. Average breakfast. Pretty small bathroom (didn’t like the tub/shower). No lake view. Nice pool! I paid 150 euro for my room and at this price-point it’s ok…in high season prices double…and I don’t think that’s a good deal…!

Comments: Overrated property. Some of the decors is starting to show wear and tear and some features of my room do not work. For example, there is no way to open the curtains (spoilt controls), hence it was always dark during the day. Hair Dryer does not work. Not much recognition for titaniums. They downgraded my SNA from Penthouse 2 Double to Lady Astor 2 Double as they claim that the room is bigger. Nice Chinese restaurant with excellent food.

Comments: Return visit to this property after several years. It could use a room refurb/update, however the public areas are very nice. Executive lounge appearance is nothing special, but food and service were great. Full dinner and breakfast buffet, except for a Friday night when only wine and cheese were served.
