How will my Eligible Status Years for 2022 be applied to my Account and when?

If you maintained the same Elite status in 2022 that you started with in 2022 , your 2022 Eligible Status Year for your current status will be applied to your Account in January 2023.

If you achieved a higher Elite status during 2022, your 2022 Eligible Status Year for the new, higher tier was applied at the time of achievement.

If you did not meet the published criteria to renew your current status in 2022, your 2022 Eligible Status Year for your current status will be added in January 2023, and your Eligible Status Year for your new status will be added in March 2023 when your Elite status is updated.

===

When will my 2021 qualifying year of Elite status be applied to my Account so I can track my path to Lifetime Elite Status?

As part of our regular process, Members receive their qualifying year towards Lifetime Elite status in one of two ways:
  1. If you maintain the same Elite level that you started the year with, your Qualifying Year of Elite status will be applied to your Account in January of the following year. Please Note: In November 2021, when we extended the Elite status that Members earned in 2019 or 2020, Members received their 2021 Qualifying Year of Elite status.
  2. If you achieve a higher Elite level during the year than the previous year, your Qualifying Year for the new, higher level will be applied at the time of achievement. Please Note: If you achieved a higher Elite level during 2021, your 2021 qualifying year of Elite status, was applied at the time of achievement.

If you maintain the same Elite level for 2022, your 2022 year of Elite status will be applied to your Account in January 2023. If you achieve a higher Elite level during 2022, your 2022 year of tenure for the new, higher level will be applied at the time of achievement.

Examples:
  • A Member achieved Gold Elite in 2019 and enjoyed the status in 2020. They received their 2020 year of Gold Elite status in July 2020 when we extended their status. Due to status extensions, the Member received their 2021 year of tenure in November 2021 when they their status was extended to February 2023.
  • A Member achieved Platinum Elite in 2020 and enjoyed the status in 2021. They received their 2021 year of Platinum status in November 2021 when they their status was extended to February 2023.
  • A Gold Elite Member achieved Platinum Elite in April 2021; the Platinum year of Elite status for 2021 was applied upon achievement (in April 2021).

No Welcome Points for me for more than six months back. No chance to get them. Sucks big time.

Are you sure you're looking correctly? They're no longer listed separately. They're only shown in the last "+" part right after the total number of points posted. And if you have other things like a promotion bonus, you have to do the math yourself to separate out the promotion bonus from the check-in bonus, since they're not shown separately but instead added up into a single number.

Two examples:

If you do an award stay on which all your earn is the check-in bonus, it might look like this: 1000 (0 + 0 + 1000).

But if you do a two night stay which earns 2000 bonus points from MegaBonus plus 1000 check-in bonus points, it'll look something like this: xxxx (yyyy + zzzz + 3000). You have to do your own math to take apart that "+ 3000" and know that 1000 of it is the check-in bonus while 2000 of it is from the Megabonus for a 2-night stay.

I qualified under the old Marriott T&Cs for the old Marriott LT Gold (500 nights & 1.6m points) in September last year. I read that the status has to be manually granted in the new year. Has anyone here already gotten his LT status? Should I reach out to my Ambassador and ask her to expedite it?

Thank you!

All legacy rules stopped being followed with the merge of the programs in August. There is to be a sweep sometime this month to apply the legacy rules to 2018 activity and grant the status earned. No reason to panic yet.

And given, you have Plat +Amb, there no loss of benefits by not having your LT status in place now.

Lifetime Tracker NOT updated

I just checked and noticed my Platinum years has not been updated after 1 Jan.

Is SPG still updating this?

They're just trying to be consistent. Since stays, points, and spend are not updating correctly, either. Marriott, batting a thousand on erroneous account information!

Lifetime Platinum Policy?

I have 10 years platinum and 588 nights so far. If I complete the remainder 12 nights when I am not platinum will I still get lifetime platinum? (In other words, do you have to earn the nights while platinum?)

I’m going to say no, since the first 49 nights you earned at the beginning of your Marriott status counted even though you had no status. Doesn’t make sense to require you to have status for the last 12.

No. The two requirements are independent of each other. It's not likely that SPG and Marriott tracked what your status was for each night anyway.

Lifetime Titanium Status

Question to Starwood Lurker IV:

Presently I am Platinum for Life.

I have 1436 lifetime nights
and 19 Years of Platinum.

My question is I assume I qualify for Lifetime Titanium Status?

Thanks

You will get LTPP which will be renamed LTT. You have nearly double the requirements for LTPP.

I looked up the price of metals. Platinum is worth more. I feel like I am being marked down!

Maybe they should have used plutonium or californium.
