I started another thread to focus on stay preclusion / "cancellation" due to inability to log-in and make a reservation:
Booking elsewhere because unable to log-in to Bonv°y website? 😮 https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/marr...l#post33291706 |
Is anyone else currently experiencing issues making a points booking? I can see the points availability on both the website and the app, but then I'm unable to actually make a booking. When I go to actually select the points rate it only offers me cash rates. Seems to be consistent across multiple locations/dates/brands.

I was unable to log on for two days. My account requires that I receive a text number in order to see it. I tried repeatedly Monday and Tuesday and got a message saying they were unable to send it. Fortunately, I just checked and could do so.

Missing hotels on Marriott homepage search
I was looking into hotels in France, with no specific dates selected. The search does not show 'all' hotels. For example, there are two in Strasbourg that do not show if the search is for 'France', but do show if I specifically search for 'Strasbourg'. I've noticed the same for some other locations. For example, searching Scotland, the Trump Turnberry does not show up. If I narrow the search to Glasgow, it is there. I would like an accurate overview of 'all' hotels for a specific area or country, available or not, and not maybe miss out on locations I wasn't aware of.
France hotels minus Strasbourg hotels - a nefarious German conspiracy? https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...30670a246d.jpg |
Yes, it is a German conspiracy. You nailed it.

Has anyone else noticed that the website just keeps getting slower and slower and more bloated, and causing browsers to max out processor utilization? I've experimented on multiple browsers and on different computers (some high end gaming rigs) and in each case just going to the main website and navigating or searching for hotels ends up with multiple cpu cores maxed out.
What is Marriott doing? Their website has got to have the most bloated inefficient outsourced coding they could find. |
Agree on the website...almost unusable at times.
|
on the app you can search by points and special rate at the same time, but you can't do that on the website.

Anyone else having issues seeing updated points/stay activity? I thought it was an update window, but it has been unavailable on mobile and web browser for the last three days.
I have been waiting for a stay to post so I can grab the receipt as well as make sure a welcome bonus that wasn't given but fixed by CS posts. |
Marriott.com and app are hard down. Geez.
Marriott.com loads the landing page and then nothing works. Can't search for hotels, can't pull up reservations, can't login to your account. Mobile app is the same. Losing millions by the minute if you believe their earnings report (87% beat). -RM |
I am able to log in, see existing reservations, etc.
Noticed earlier...either this morning or last night...the GUI looked a bit different, so they are tinkering with things. |

What's different? I just logged in but didn't detect much/any change.
David I am sure they are tinkering around with it, maybe doing usability testing or something. I am sure it is taking a lot of time and money, and will end up being worse for the user. Just always happens that way. |
Marriott no longer showing hotel category in search results?
So not long ago when you searched for hotels, the website would also list the hotel category when you select to use points.
Now as of the last week or two, it just shows the point total so you have no idea what the hotel category is. You can't even sort by category any more, and the only way to find out the category is to click on the hotel and then click again for the link to the hotel main website. Apparently Marriott wants to hide and make it very difficult to determine the actual category so you don't know if it is a standard or peak redemption rate. |
