As per https://www.starwoodhotels.com/tribu...language=en_US :

The SLS Las Vegas, a Tribute Portfolio Resort will be leaving Marriott on August 17, 2018. Reservations for dates on or after August 17, 2018, will not be eligible for Starwood Preferred Guest membership benefits, award redemption or accrual.

SLS Las Vegas joined SPG in December 2015, having previously being a Hilton Curio (see this thread in the FT Hilton forum.)

Pre-opening discussion is here.

Opening promotion : Celebrate SLS Las Vegas. Register & pick your card to reveal your offer.

The 289-room LUX Tower, one of the three towers onsite, will undergo a conversion and renovation and reopen as W Las Vegas in September 2016. The W will have its own dedicated entrance, lobby, meeting space, pool and facilities and will be managed by Starwood while the remainder of the SLS will remain under its current management. Discussion here.

Shuttle from the LAS Airport stops at 8PM, and is not free for guests to take as of April 1st, 2016. Call property for updates and more info as they don't have it posted on their website.

Very frustrating and something that has not happened before...

The hotel also sent me a email stating the deposit would be 729$ per night, I raised a complaint about this and got a reply that no sucj amount is debited but no explanation from the hotel why they sent the email!

I hope the stay itself goes better!
I have no idea why the spg numbers disappear! Never heard of that happening anywhere else, ever.

Yes, be very vigilant with everything the front desk does. They are all very nice and pleasant but I had so many errors I'd almost rather have a grumpy FDC who does everything right.

Indeed! I hate fighting over details and I tend to NOt repeat stays at properties where one has to do so... That said I find it curious how spg number get dropped from reservations made on SPG... All these are BRG rates...

My dropped number was not on a BRG rate - just a plain old, see the rate on the website and click. But what ended up happening, since the number was not there, and I had to go through the "report missing stay" route, was that they did not give me the 3x pts offer I booked. Hopefully I can get that straightened out...it's not much, but it's what I bargained for.

Edit: Just checked my e-mail and William, you rock. I haven't done all the math but it almost looks like TOO many points!

And for the record, I had also asked about the 500 pt bonus (the "pick your prize" promotion) and William said there would be a sweep in April, so that's good to know.

We stayed at Paris right after SLS but I know those Total Rewards stays take much longer to post, so I'm being patient there.

We are looking into the disappearing SPG number issue at SLS Las Vegas, a Tribute Portfolio Resort, but preliminary findings do not lay the blame at the property. For instance, in your case, it appears that an ECOMM associate may have deleted the SPG number in error, so we are looking into getting it restored.

Does this mean we have to put our pitchforks away?

No, but they might want to be pointed in a different direction.

Thanks,

This is intresting as it happened TWICE with the same hotel and the email I received from the BrG desk indicated the blame lay with the hotel

I am still concerned that the hotel is sending me confirmations with a 729$ deposit amount but I will see what happens

I had to but champage corks on the ends of my pitchfork, safer that way as I jump to conclusions 😃

I am staying here next week 4 nights on the 3X Points rate (no BRG). Will let everyone know what happens. Should be a points bonanza with 3X, Take Two, 1000 point pick your card offer, et al. I'm hoping for TOO many points, too.

I have it on 3 cards, not SPG though.
Unfortunately, that American Express offer seems to be a sham as there is NO availability to book it. Using the link (sbe.com/AmEx/SLSLasVegas) brings me to starwood.com, and the Special Rate code AMEXPK which has no availability through the end of the promotion period (June 1, 2016).

I'm booked there in a few weeks and curious to see what it is about, but at >$175/night when all is said and done I'm debating canceling. Does anyone have experience with how SPG Platinum/TotalRewards Gold members are treated at LINQ?

I guess I now have to concur as I just had it happen for the Fouth time in ONe week...

It really is a bit of a pain... Luckily its fast to spot as the reservation disappears from the app but still seems odd that after years of BRGs this is all of a sudden happening this often?

Not very cool
