SLS Las Vegas Hotel & Casino, Curio Collection by Hilton {US-NV} (no longer Honors)

Earlier this year, SBE Entertainment said the SLS Las Vegas would become part of the Preferred Hotels &Resorts guest loyalty program, which includes 450 independently-owned hotels and resorts.

On Monday, the SBE said SLS Las Vegas would be affiliated with a new independent hotel collection through Hilton Worldwide, allowing the property to tap into the Hilton HHonors customer loyalty program, which has 40 million members

SBE CEO Sam Nazarian called the deal with Hilton an important relationship for SLS Las Vegas.

(It) allows us to maintain the SLS brand identity while offering the benefits of Hilton Worldwides commercial engines and the strength of the Hilton HHonors loyalty program, Nazarian said.

SLS Las Vegas will dwarf the size of other SBE-operated hotels. SLS hotels in Beverley Hills, Calif., and in Miamis South Beach area each has around 200 rooms.

The SLS New York, another 200-room property, is scheduled to open in 2015. Other SLS hotels are planned for Philadelphia, Seattle, the Miami neighborhood of Brickell, and China.

This is great news and this property has been redeveloped from top to bottom from the former Sahara. For those visiting LAS this should be welcome news, as this hotel has a stop for the LV monorail. (I know the monorail has had money problems, but from this location it works to get to the convention center all the way to the MGM Grand, with stops all along the Strip).

Perhaps now Hilton can dump the Tropicana.

This sounds like it is going be a nice property. It opens in August.

Would you happen to know under which Hilton brand it is going to operate, or will they just affiliate with hhonnors...?

The newspaper report came out on 6/5/2014 and did not state that. I sure hope they treat members better than the Tropicana.

This looks like it will be a great asset to Hilton.

I am loyal to Marriott, but I stay at Hilton brands more and more lately.

I do not know if Hilton has loaded this property into their reservation system yet. I know the hotel is taking reservations directly, according to the article.

You are correct that this hotel will operate under Curio.

For more info on this property and the new Curio brand, take a look at this thread: Hilton Launches Curio, a New Boutique Hotel Brand

This FAQ is also helpful in understanding the HHonors benefits at this property.

Cheers,
Anthony

The link for FAQ is coming up as an invalid link. I'd love to know the benefits at this property (especially breakfast and if there is a resort fee for diamonds) since I have a stay currently booked labor day weekend at the HGVC on Karen. If the benefits are right, I'd like to move the stay there

Interesting... I'm looking into this. What's posted on this site is the only information I have at this point, but I'll definitely share more updates about benefits as soon as I have more information.

This is good news, especially after what I've heard about FTer's experiences at the Tropicana recently.

Hopefully they won't do what Tropicana did and start out giving diamonds great treatment and then throw us under the bus three months later for their casino high roller's.

If trop kept the same diamond benefits they did when they first became a DT, they would continue to get my stays in Vegas.

They have always had a resort fee but when they first became a DT it was waived for diamonds. They stopped that policy after a few months.

For the first year or so diamonds were given a full buffet in the beach caf and gold's were given a decent (if you like carbs) continental breakfast of a yogurt parfait and a few pastries with the option to upgrade to buffet for a surcharge. Diamonds were also allowed to use the VIP line at breakfast. First they stopped allowing diamond's to use the casino VIP line at breakfast, then they eliminated the full breakfast buffet for diamond's and give the same options gold received and then they moved it down to the food court area.

When you factor in the resort fee, I am better off staying at the Elayra or another HGVC or a non-Hilton property in Vegas. Plenty of places for breakfast in Vegas or I can just get something healthy and use the kitchen if it's an HGVC property.

I would love it if this property gave diamonds the buffet for breakfast. The buffet looks awesome on their facebook page. Their coffee house looks amazing as well and I would be fine with the breakfast benefit being there as well.

I'm really hoping they have a lounge.
