I have had two one-nighters at this property. Very, very pleased.
As a Platinum, my Story room was upgraded to the Lux tower. The room was a little bit precious, but there was a lot of attention to detail in the room and throughout the property.
The full resort fee (aka higher room rate that gets no points) was charged. About $32 including tax. As another poster mentioned, I got 2 drink vouchers. I used one for a drink in the evening (Monkey Bar) and the second for morning latte at the coffee bar (Perq).
I also received full breakfast. The restaurant's food and service are both first-rate.
The only downside for some will be the location. It is NOT anywhere near most of the Strip, so it pretty much knocks out going for a casino stroll, at least at most of the nicer properties. That's not important to me, so I would not hesitate to stay here again.

I booked when they clearly offered a shuttle. Once I found out it was no longer offered I ended up renting a car, since that was cheaper than paying $30 each way to/from the airport. But, the free shuttle definitely figured into my value proposition of staying at the property.
My flight arrived at midnight and after stopping to get some late dinner arrived to the property around 1:50 AM. I arrived at the only valet entrance I could see from Las Vegas Blvd, but they told me for the hotel it is a different entrance and they drove me there in an Escalade that was waiting.
I got to the check-in desk right at 2:00 AM and they informed me that the system is switching over to the next day and I would have to wait 25 minutes before I can check in. I'm exhausted from flying all day and I have to wait 25 minutes to check in! They told me I can go sit on the couch near the entrance.
So, with nothing to do I sat there for 25 minutes. When I went back to check-in they told me it would be another 10 minutes. Ugh....
So, finally, 35 minutes later they check me in. As a Platinum I am upgraded to the Lux tower to a big room that is handicap "accessible". Not a suite, but a big room.
When I check out the next day they tell me they will e-mail me the receipt, but ask me if I am checking out early. I say no, I have a 1-night stay, and they say I have a 2-night stay, but will cancel the second night.
Anyway, I receive my bill by e-mail and they charged me for 2 nights. The first night was marked as a no-show and then they charged me for the 2nd night, which I wasn't even staying. And, for the no show that was charged I was also charged a no-show resort fee. How can a no-show be charged a resort fee when they haven't used the resort?
Anyway, a phone call took care of the charges. But, annoying nonetheless.

Were your stay and points eventually credited for the "no show" night? I had trouble with that at a non-SPG property where I had booked 3 rooms, my party showed up after 2 am, and points didn't post due to the alleged no-show.

I first encountered that when I had a flight delay, and called ahead to the hotel to let them know I would be checking in after midnight, but still staying for that first night (I didn't want to loose my night credit, or be a no-show either, based on other threads I've read here). They noted that in my file, and let me know that if I arrived around 2 that the would be completing the audit.
Sure enough, I arrived just after they started, and it was a 30-45 minute process. However, they had processed my room before they started, and just took a manual print of the card I had on file, and sent me to my room.
I came down 20 minutes later to grab some snacks and amenities from the store, and they still had it going - however the front desk clerk took a look at what I had chosen, and simply told me not to worry about it, as I'd be waiting around for another 15-20.
tl;dr
This happens at every SPG property at 2am, and if you're looking to arrive around that time, I recommend calling ahead so they can check you in before they start the audit process.

As another data point, I was upgraded to a "junior suite" in the Lux Tower as well, which is just a corner studio room facing Las Vegas Blvd.
The 2xx03 "Junior Suite" rooms have basic amenities... and the shower has a window without blinds or tinting facing the Stratosphere (will be interesting when the W is built). There is significant construction happening below that window, I'm assuming for the building of the W - I'd avoid it as the noise started at 7am.
The 2xx21 "Junior Suite" rooms have amenities (soap, shampoo) bottles that are 3x the size of the 2xx03 rooms, and the shower has a glass window facing the bed... but with blinds on the bed side. This room is directly above the pool, on the Las Vegas Blvd/Hilton side.

I did not know this. Especially good advice since I semi-regularly arrive around 1a after a late flight. With a delay, this will come into play. Thanks for the tip ^

My travel plans are similar. I'd advise that you reach out to the hotel directly on the day of your arrival (in addition to listing your arrival time when you book the stay) advising them of your very late arrival. The hotel should be able/willing to check you in before their night audit runs, saving you from further frustration down the line.

Has anyone noticed that the rates have gone way up for the upcoming few months??
My fault for not booking earlier, but several dates that had rates for 55-65 a night are now showing 150-165 plus resort fees.
Sorry, SLS, but given the location and the non-existent shuttle, there's absolutely no way I'm going to pay almost $200 for a Monday / Tuesday in Vegas. The Bellagio can be had for that with an MLife rate... -_-

I can only confirm my experience. Quite dissappointing over all wheb managment makes xcuses instead of fixing problems. But this is just one way to deter people from returning. I have had far worse issues at hotels yet those were handled well my local hotel managment and will return to those hotels abd recommend others to go there, this hotel get very little positive reviews from ME others may have better luck. At minimum I would have expected a comp for the room that smelled like a sewer but they chose the we sure are sorry route and that is there choice.
In due time I am sure they will learn or change flags again!

They're actually going beyond the requirements of SPG's room upgrade policy, right? afaik, properties only have to upgrade you to the best available room in the tower that you booked. It seems like the SLS is going to their own initiative and upgrading people between towers, too.
