IMHO this is one of the *BEST* properties in the *wood program. Great golf. Great spa. Great AAA 5 Diamond restaurant.
I hope it doesn't leave the program to become a Ritz Carlton.

Not a recent experience, but I recently saw a nice Travelzoo rate for Sheraton Wild Horse Pass: $89/nt with $50 resort credit on a 2-nt stay now through Sept 12.

(Ignore Travelzoo's warning on their page. It is NOT sold out.)

We stayed here in February 2010. Overall a nice stay and the property is very attractive. It is way out in the desert and not convenient to anything except the casino, so I recommend this property only for a relaxing getaway, not for visiting anything in the Phoenix area.
We had a bad experience in the restaurant that serves breakfast. Service was abysmally slow. The waiter showed up fairly quickly to take our order and was pretty friendly, but after a busboy brought us coffee, we never saw anyone for another 45 minutes. Seriously, not even a coffee warm-up. Other tables were coming and going during this time. Finally we got up, went to the front desk and told them we were leaving since our server was apparently never going to bring our food!
We received a phone message from a manager that day, apologizing profusely, assuring us we would not be charged for the coffees, and offering to comp breakfast the next morning. We didn't bother. Later we were given 1500 Starpoints as an apology, without asking for anything. So I feel management handled the situation pretty well.

Stayed there for a weekend a couple of weeks ago. Very enjoyable stay : it's a nice property and we got a super suite upgrade. Without exception, all the staff we met were excellent. We only had one meal : lunch at the Ko'Sin, which was good. Especially appreciated the free soft drink refills.
Pool areas are great : plenty of room to spread out, and number of sunbeds was greater than the number of guests, always a good sign.
Went riding out of the neighbouring Koli equestrian centre, and also did the Saturday evening Rawhide cowboy cookout, which was fun.

Was there over Spring Break(mid March)with my family as Westin Kierland was only available a couple of PMs. So...I kinda took a flyer on this property and was very very surprised how nice it was. To me, it was almost WESTIN quality.
We booked on points and got upgraded to a nice suite with seperate rooms(a family room with a dining table and pull out couch and a bedroom). It had 2 nice balconies over looking the golf course and a nice marble bathroom with a huge shower and a nice hot tub in bathroom.
There is a great running trail nearby in the desert(may be a little riskier now that it is getting warmer), a very nice set of pools(one with a huge water slide) and a couple of decent restaurants. The only slight issue we had is we spent a ton of time up in Scottsdale area and it is about 25-30 minutes solid drive up that way. The wife used the SPA a couple of days and as Platinum Member it was comped for her to workout. Nice.
Very convenient from airport, close to the new Wild Pass Casino, close to an InNOut Burger for us, Starbucks. We were really pleased...and suprised.
Travel Safe. BHawk.

I spent 3 nights there recently, while on a work trip for an event that was being held at another property. Other than checking in and out at the front desk, getting a free cup of coffee, and talking to the rental car counter about getting a sedan for 1 trip, I didn't have any interaction with any other staff, and didn't use any of the amenities. It really was just a place to sleep at night for me.
As a Gold I got upgraded to a room with a nicer view, and I thought it was nice enough, but heard more noise through the walls than I am accustomed to hearing. Conversations, TV noise, and snoring were clearly audible from the rooms on either side of me. It wasn't a bother, and I'd stay there again, but something I don't normally notice.

A few minutes ago I booked a stay for three nights. I checked the email and there is no mention of a resort fee in the confirmation. just 12% tax. And I recall, though I am not certain, that when I was checking the reviews, there was mention on tripadvisor that there was no resort fee for the hotel.
