I haven't stayed there in a few years, but we had dinner there in late 2020. Even with a couple basic covid protocols the experience was as fantastic as ever. This was when we were hesitant to eat in crowded restaurants....we knew Kai was always lower volume / higher quality. Their normal vibe gives you plenty of space.
Hard to gauge what the hotel was like since occupancy levels were likely very low due to the pandemic. But the place looked as nice as ever.

Spent a nice weekend at the Sheraton Grand at Wild Horse Pass. We had a trip to Hawaii get cancelled earlier this summer due to the family getting COVID and were looking for a make-up getaway. 113 degree Arizona isn’t exactly an even trade for Hawaii, but it fit the bill for our needs. We had stayed once before about 5 years ago and really enjoyed it, with the dated rooms being the only downside that comes to mind. They’ve since been updated, making for an even nicer experience.
A few highlights:
A few highlights:
- We spent the weekend relaxing at the resort so I didn’t rent a car. Uber/Lyft both ways, which was easy. Going back to the airport, we had about a 15 minute wait for a car as we were leaving early.
- I booked a special rate that included $100 per day resort credit. Credit was applied without me even having to ask.
- We used SNAs and were upgraded to a suite.
- Resort fee was reduced from $29 to $10 for Titanium.
- We took breakfast as our amenity. It’s a small buffet at Ko’Sin. Normal price is $25 per adult. We only had to pay for our daughter ($12.50). It was ok. As we finished on our last day, we overheard a server mention they did eggs to order, but this was news to us. On our previous stay, they were serving ala carte breakfast there, which I remember being better.
- Lunch offerings at Hanyo pool bar are pretty solid. Food was very good. Drinks, not so much. Mostly watery, syrupy Island Oasis concoctions. No beer on tap, though they do have a really nice selection of local craft beer in cans.
- The only options for dinner right now are Ko’Sin or the lobby bar. The Ko’Sin menu felt really generic and uninspired so we ate both nights in the bar area. The menu is small, but good, gatropub-type fare (cheesy fondue, summer sausage, salads, burger) and they have a real bar menu, real cocktails, and a few beers on tap. They also had live music (different performers) every night we were there.
- There’s a shuttle that runs to the casino, outlet mall, and spa. It was the only real flaw of our stay. It’s supposed to run on a continuous loop, but there’s no set schedule and it seemed a little squirrely. We got tired of waiting at the outlets to get picked up and just called an Uber. The A/C was also broken, which is not good.

I had a nice visit in April, a few nights @35k, one at 40k.
Looked for next March, 84k! Cash price is $504, so about $.06 per point.
Glad I blew a ton of points earlier in the year.

I have been there twice this year and have been very happy. Resort fee is back up to #29 for ambassador guests, same as everyone else again. Resort fee among other things includes shuttle to golf course, casino and phoenix, all of which except the outlets are walkable from the resort. Golf course always seem to be in nice shape. Do not know if there is a general e-mail contact. Always happy with the cleanliness, staff, public spaces and overall ambiance. Are there any specific questions?

Multiple restaurants on property. All are very good. The one at the golf course club house is open until 5 and the food and atmosphere are good. Ko'sin on the resort proper is excellent, for breakfast, lunch and dinner: has three dining rooms and an outdoor patio, so not a large group in any, Native American themed. Servers at Ko'sin are superb, particularly William & Mark. For something lighter, Hanyo out by the pools serves great apps, sandwiches and excellent drinks, open from 10-5.
