Just got another BRG for terrace suite at $125/night and I think plunge pools suites were listed for 144/night on agoda.
Did you have to pay 5000 THB/night ontop of the SNA, or you only paid 5000 THB for chase & points for your orginal reservation?

Le Méridien Koh Samui Resort & Spa, Thailand
1.)Points for original reservation using 35% off
2.)Suite night awards cleared and then
3.)5000 baht a night for best room on property.
They will also upgrade to villas for about 25000 points per night.
Also no internet issues that others have cited

why did you pay 5000 THB if your SNA cleared? I must be missing something as it seems your SNA was wasted if you still paid for the upgrade?

Suite night awards don't include the oceanfront villas. SNAs lowered cost of upgrade from 8960
Baht per night to 5000.
Baht per night to 5000.

Anybody have the e-mail of the GM Tina? I want to send an e-mail to her, since front desk staff are not consistent with responding...

Can anyone tell me if any of the rooms are connecting?
I read that it would be difficult to get a family of 4 into a room, would this be true for the Pavilion Pool Villa? The website states "Ideal for a small family" At 1,130 Square Feet it seems like plenty of space but not sure how much of that is outdoor space and or bathroom.

The hotel does not have any connection rooms.
As for your enquiry on rooms for a family of 4, it will be better to contact hotel directly at [email protected].

The setup of the rooms is a bit strange. Check out this schematic:
http://www.lemeridienkohsamui.com/en/pavilionpoolvilla
So you have a private area surrounded by the outer wall. But the other room would be the living room on the other side of the private area. Note the bathroo is also on the other side. Between these rooms is the outdoors. Nobody can see in, so no worries when heading to the bathroom in the middle of the night in your pyjamas.

I'll have to disagree. The room includes the whole walled fortress. This is what you are renting for the night. There is one door into the fort and no way for anyone to see in or out other than to the sky. I think that it would be great if they stated how much of the space is air conditioned, but the space that you have at your sole disposal is 1130 sq ft.

The "living room" is not a proper room - it's an outdoor space, covered, definitely not a place where one can sleep. Only the bedroom is A/C and closed. All other areas are outdoor, with the living room and bathroom covered. In the bedroom there's a couch where probably one person can sleep, or maybe it can be removed to make some space. I stayed there last year, it's a wonderful accommodation, but I would be careful to book this one for a family of 4.

The nicer oceanfront pool villas do have a physically separate living room pavilion with AC.
We are currently staying at the fabulous Conrad but did a tour of Starwood properties 2 days ago in advance of future stays. The only property where any effort was made to show us around rather than simply letting us wander was the Meridien. I will definitely book an ocean view pool villa here in the future. We really love the Conrad but the Meridien room is far bigger and less than half the price. The boutique feel is also delightful.
