Indeed. Which is why I used the words "was", "were", "ate" and "drank" when referring to the period in the past when the lounge was closed for refurbishment.

Stayed at Sheraton Macao twice in the past month (both 1 week each), I thought I'll write a joint report.
Check-in: both times checked in at the lounge on 4th floor (please do that if you're Platinum+, first floor is a zoo). Both times quick and efficient, super friendly staff carrying a conversation with you as they check you in.
Upgrade: Both times upgraded to a fantastic suite (living room, dining room, ex-karaoke room, and bed room). One of my stays was redemptive stay.
Breakfast: used to be great (have stayed here many years ago) but now it's pretty average. And it's so crowded at certain times you have to be seated and can't sit yourself. They need to do something about it as the last thing I wanted do when I head to lounge is to take a number and wait in the lobby.
Lounge: overall spacious (non-dining hours) but limited selections in both coffee and drinks. I've been to a small town's Sheraton that offered more drinks selections. Really they can do a little better here. While check-in staff are supremely friendly and helpful, for some reason the staff inside are not. I've asked someone standing there for a cup of Latte and unlike all other Sheratons that will serve you, she simply pointed to the coffee machine and say "do it yourself", yep, exactly what she said to me.
Facilities: really didn't use anything and ALL dining in the huge mall downstairs (even across the street) you can charge to your room. Really good to make it one stop. If you plan to do that simply remember to deposit a higher amount of money to avoid the embarrassment of "sorry, charge to your room decline".
Location: really excellent in my opinion for views, especially the night view across the street to Parisian and Venetian. Make sure to ask for a room that gets you great view across the street.
Final thoughts: for some reason they never credit their points correctly so both times I had to call Bonvoy to get points, make sure to get your copy of receipt at checkout to make the process easier. But overall, a decent hotel to stay in but some of the decor you can tell are dated. But hey, a 4-room suite, no complaints.

We recently had as well the opportunity to stay in the Sheraton Macau. Impressive big hotel but as well very bussy with in my oppinion too many people. Club Lounge was nice with excellent bar service but on weekend very overloaded. The food offer was quite okay with a good mix of asian and international options. Bonvoy Platinum recognition was okay with quick check-in service on a desk in the club lounge. However no upgrade (Hotel was fully booked). Overall still a very good stay with overall good service.

Evening snacks are also excellent, with several items from the Feast buffet making an appearance. Some nights, they have a giant sea bass, feijoada, African chicken, plus delicious antipasti from Bene, supplemented by a daily special dish brought to the table by staff (e.g., scallops, birds nest). Tasty desserts. Granted, some nights are stronger than others, and the place can be a zoo (due to the fact that there are some 350 club rooms). The bar isn’t particularly strong if you’re expecting cocktails, but they will be try. What shocks me most is that I’m greeted by name by several staff (and with 3-4 annual stays here, I’m not exactly a regular).
I’ve stayed here maybe 20 times since the hotel opened, and tbh, there was a time the club was awful. Cheap food, a terrible crowd. And there were great times (when the club was closed and one could have the full Feast or Xin buffet instead, for a while with premium liquors). But quite frankly, in this current state, the club is very strong, and I don’t know of any Sheraton that can compete.
Granted, I only stay here midweek, so the Saturday experience may be worse. I’m 90% suite upgrades, including some of the amazing high roller suites on the 39th/40th floor. And my rates are usually in the 600HKD range (after easy BRG). What’s not to like?!

Just quoting this post, but there are several others like it. I’d be interested in hearing what Sheratons you guys are staying at. IME, this club lounge is spectacular, not only considering the size of the hotel, but also compared to other Sheratons in Asia. SNIP

I'm with you. The only disappointing experience I've had has been when the hotel is full over New Year and I wasn't upgraded (the basic rooms are really basic and don't even have coffee making facilities). The spread in the Club Lounge is like a small hotel buffet. I'm back for two nights in a week and a half for fun.
Which sites do you use for a BRG at that rate? I'm generally paying ~1000HKD on the app.

This has probably been covered one way or the other, but I'm posting anyway.
I arrive HKG @6:45pm. I see that Cotaijet to Taipa terminal does not have nighttime service. Turbojet does not go to Taipa although it has more service options.
Should I just go through immigration at the airport and take the bus or does Sheraton have a shuttle from the main Macao ferry terminal? The Sheraton website only lists Taipa. I guess I could take a taxi as well.

Question for anyone who's stayed a Saturday night over the last six months
I was back at the Sheraton Friday and Saturday nights and for the second time I didn't get a meaningful upgrade (club room only - quite basic).
I first went to this hotel five or six times between 2015-17 and each time got a large suite with games room (including that great period when the lounge was closed and we ate and drank in Feast). Always stayed a Saturday night.
I understood the hotel being full over 2019 New Year (Western, not Chinese) and lounge was extended to the spillover area. But this weekend, the lounge did not feel at capacity but still no suite upgrade. The rate on Friday was ~HK$900 while on Saturday it was ~HK$1500. There was nothing special about this weekend.
Can it really be the case that paying mainlanders are now filling all the suites on Saturday nights these days so there aren't any available for Plats (or Tits in my case)? This used to be a favourite hotel for a weekend escape from Shenzhen but it's not worth HK$1500 for such a basic room.
Has anyone had experience of getting suites on Saturdays over the last six months or was I just unlucky as a repeat guest this time?
On another note, I did feel the catering in the lounge has got better. Both breakfast and the evening meal felt like it had returned to variety of 3-4 years ago (there was a dip for a while). Also, the evening spread is from 5.30pm-8pm now so an extra half an hour of boozing is possible.
On a third note, Bene is closing soon as the front of the Sheraton is being redeveloped into a London theme to complement Paris across the road so watch out for that. We went to the Sunday brunch again and it felt like they're already winding it down with no roast meat option, crabs in the seafood, or frozen margaritas this time.
Finally, I highly recommend the new show Elekron that's at Studio City if you're looking for a suitable alternative to the House of the Dancing Water. We got cheap tickets off Klook for the 4pm afternoon show on Saturday and were able to make it back for the 5.30pm start in the Sheraton lounge.

There aren’t many mainlanders paying for suites - the casinos block book most of the suites at weekends, which is why it’s much more difficult to get one. Did you check availability on the app? I find that with that hotel it’s better to have a contact person then email them every time you go in order to increase upgrade chances. To be honest, I prefer the Regis to the Sheraton.
I've already decided that I won't do a points redemption at the Sheraton any more given the decreasing chance of a suite - which is really its only wow factor. The JW is also a Cat 5 and I'm sure their basic room is better than the Sheraton's.

The Sheraton has free buses from both ferry terminals (the same bus goes to all the hotels in this row including the Conrad, Holiday Inn etc.). Taking Turbojet to Macau Outer ferry terminal will not make much difference to you so do that. It's much quicker to get the ferry direct to either terminal in Macau than to go into HK if there's an evening ferry direct to Macau from the airport that's at a convenient time for you.

I have a trip to Phillipines next year where I may make a trip to Macau before flying home out of HKG if I feel I need to stay there.
