While I might change things up I ended up just booking all nights in HKG and will make a day trip over to Macau. Decided the hassle of getting to Macau hotel late at night and then switching two days later probably wasn't worth it.

I have a trip to Phillipines next year where I may make a trip to Macau before flying home out of HKG if I feel I need to stay there.
