crap, the new td buxx rules just made this crappy

Worse they make it dead effectively for MS unless you find a TD CC that works for you AND gives rewards for these loads which is unlikely.

Td gives 1%. Effectively getting $8 profit minus any fees to unload per $1000. Have fun with that

I read through this thread and the USbank buxx T&C and did not find a transaction limit. for example, if I loaded my card with 2k, and want to buy $1998.6 MO+$1.4 fee in one swipe, would that work?

thanks

I will answer my own question. i was able to drain the 2k in a single transaction at WM today.

Provided it earns that. As we all know, USB issued credit card such as Club Carlson earns zilch with US Buxx.

Unless you have been using a TD credit card to load TD GO and can verify it earns you 1% on the load, I think you are way too optimistic on your estimate of that $8 profit.

My speculation would be zilch.

It's dead; otherwise, USB won't bother changing the loading policies.

Hey, cheer up. The one thing we can be sure of is greedy banks trying to take advantage of the underbanked youth, elderly, and under paid of America.

Well, its sad to see the end of another good source for MSing. But everyone should have seen it coming. I was at times mortified to read how some folks were abusing this opportunity by signing up multiple "teens". I guess they had their own reason to do so.

I wish they had been enforcing some account set up rules (like stopping folks from making themselves their own teen) instead of these draconian changes. Of course, once they realized how this card was being abused -- and these huge account numbers no doubt hastened that discovery -- it makes sense for them to completely shut it down. I can't see how ANY of the accounts controlled by flyertalkers could be profitable. Any the tiny number of "legitimate" Go card holders (who actually use it to manage funds for their real teens) probably don't care about the funding changes.

With this opportunity gone next month, what are folks shifting to? Are there any other good Buxx cards? I'll probably use my Target Prepaid AMEX cards more to meet minimum spends and such; the "hassle factor" of that card (withdrawing cash at ATMs, plus some ATM fees) probably keeps that card alive. I wasn't maxing that one out, given how much easier it is to move spend through TD Buxx.

The NW buxxx is still rolling. You can only load 1k but with 2 cards its still a nice way to MS.

Meh either way it doesn't work... not going to bother for the pittance of return even if it does work, which I agree is unlikely

Sorry - read the last 10 pages - I get TD has gone the way of the do do bird, but where did you guys get that USB is dead? Worked for me fine.

Mamibear Aug 3, 2014 7:44 am

I just noticed this memo on my USBuxx account in red fonts:

Please Note: As of Sept 21, 2014, regularly scheduled loads via “Allowance Schedules” will no longer be available. Any new or currently scheduled loads will need to be completed manually each time via “Add New Funds”.xxxx

I have always added new funds manually so this won't affect me.

I am going to scale back a bit (which was going to happen anyway). I will have met the minimum spend on a bunch of cards by September and it is not worth it to me to MS for 1% when I have a card that gives me much higher CB percent and the TDGo card was never good for that sort of MS anyway.

I can only speak to US, no TD for me.
Might you be beyond the limits for adding new funding sources?

I don't have my notes handy but it is something like: 1 a day, 3 in 30 days, 6 in 180 days.

And now for a trip down memory lane..
Remember these?
They are long gone, don't get excited.
