If I end up with 3500 in points, I can take the One card to Walmart and get $35 in cash out?

When loading the One card at Walmart, do the cashiers know how to do it?
Just mention One card?

From the One Pay web site
  1. Redeem for cash back or a statement credit: Before you shop, open the OnePay app and navigate to the Rewards section. You must have a minimum of 25 points to redeem.
    • Cash back: The money will be deposited into your OnePay Cash account. You can then use the debit card tied to that account to pay for your purchase.
    • Statement credit: The reward is applied to your credit card balance, which effectively lowers your next payment. You will need to use a separate payment method for your purchase.
You can withdraw the money from the Cash Account at the WM cashier.

I am aware that once I activate my permanent/chip card I will no longer be able to load at SCO. Obviously, I'd like to keep that going as long as possible.

I received an email saying that it was time to activate my permanent card and that,

"Starting January 23, 2026, you won’t be able to add money with with the card you purchased at Walmart."

Does this mean that, as long as I don't activate my chip card I can continue loading at SCO until Jan? Is this specific to me or was that just a general announcement?

For those of you that tried to put off activating your chip card as long as possible, h
ow long were you able to drag it out (either from account opening or from getting the email telling you to activate it)?

I think that it was either SailorJoe or TyrannicalDuncery who attempted to use their temp card in the above fashion and wound up getting their account shuttered.

I believe that you now have human eyes on your account, since they sent you a follow up letter. They don't know who you actually are since you haven't registered your account.

You need to make a decision as to whether you want the account or the ability to load the card, which you can still do with the chip card, just not at SCO (as far as I know).

It's been 3 months for me. I remember seeing something about 120 days earlier in this thread although I'm not sure it's true. I haven't received that email.

I'm curious to know how long you've had yours if you're willing to share.

When loading the OnePay debit card at WM,
do you insert the debit card just as with Discover debit or
do you show the barcode that is in the OnePay app ?

Insert. Bar code hasn't worked properly in a while, at least for me. It started having weird limitations about 4-5 months ago where I could only load $200 or less. With insertion it works great.

Perfect. Thanks.

Well, it looks like my time might be up. Just got the following email from OnePay:
"Due to unusual activity, your OnePay account has been restricted. During this time, you will not be able to deposit funds. You will continue to have access to current account balances.

We will follow up with a separate email message, typically within 24 hours, that may include questions requiring your immediate attention and response."
I’ve been loading $990 at a time consistently over the past few months. In September, I loaded close to $7,000, including several back-to-back $990 loads in the last five days of the month. I never withdrew cash. I made a few small purchases at Walmart just to keep things “normal,” but primarily used the account to make ACH pulls from Amex and Chase credit cards.

So now I’m wondering, Is there anything I can realistically do here? Or should I just take the L like a MS-Man and start looking for ohter greener pastures?

Well at this point you might as well see what questions they may have. I don't think you have much choice, like what excuses do you say you have for your activity. Its basically repetitive loads of the same amounts and then withdrawing. How long have you had the account for?

Sorry to hear this. Unlikely, but I hope they just want to confirm some information or something in that order.

I'm curious to know if you were moving all/most of money out of the account through bill pay or you were keeping something in there? Were you keeping any in the saving or all was in their checking? For how long were you doing MS on OnePay?

Oh I also started in July and with much heavier loading. I guess I shouldn’t be surprised if I also get the email soon then.

Past three months, each month I’ve been moving 5k (it’s the cap) out to my external bank and also paying ~2.5k bills through ACH for my car lease, day care, Verizon and another small bill, but always kept >3K in the savings (it’s a similar interest rate to most HYSAs anyways), and at least 2k-ish in debit to hit plus. Consistently loaded $200-$600 at a time, sometimes multiple times in a day at different WMs. Never used it to pay a CC though, which might be why I haven’t been flagged yet. Or maybe it’s just a matter of time. Let’s see.

a typical Walmart customer doing this in this economy?
that certainly would raise red flags
