2023 Shutdown Thread

Got all Chase personal and business cards closed for "rewards misuse". I did not receive any letters until I called 2 weeks later. The telephone representative needed to request a letter be generated by another team. The letter was backdated to the shutdown date.
I had combined UR points from a household account and transferred them to Aeroplan during the 20% bonus. I then redeemed the Aeroplan miles to PYB travel purchases, some of which were later cancelled and refunded (due to unacceptable flight schedule changes). The Aeroplan card currently has a 4-figure credit balance from the last PYB credit and refund.
Has anybody been able to get a Chase "rewards misuse" shutdown reversed?

The only way they don't see it is if you book with airlines or OTAs that keep the money and issue a "travel credit" for a future ticket.

I always book flights out near the end of the calendar of whatever airline I'm booking to get the cheapest/best options. There are ALWAYS flight changes, most of which offer me the option to cancel and get a refund. I know this. Everyone on this forum knows this. Your problem is that Chase also knows this. Cap One last week literally just changed the rules on the Venture X $300 travel credit to avoid exactly this game. Chase isn't playing this game. They shut down accounts and no, you will not be able get the shutdown reversed.
Maybe try back with them in about 6 or 7 years? I think that's the latest update I'd heard.

I'd done 30-40K a month for aa points, 99% of the charges with simon, but recognizing that everyone needs to win somehow, I let the card collect interest fees every once in a while to keep the game going, I'd done this for the last 18 months, I pay for the interest charges using a different card that provides 2.5% cash back. I started with 10-12K CL and I'm now at 40K with the issuer providing me with credit, I never ask for a CL increase. I realize that this is complety YMMV so this is just a DP. Good Luck

risk of shut down?
In the past 2 months myself and spouse have each opened Ink preferred and ink unlimited by referring each other on three of the cards (the first one we had another friend refer us) - so 4 total cards with SUB either posted, pending, or about to reach the min spend. We are contemplating opening the ink cash card each as well in the next 2-4 months.
I have not transfered P2's points to myself yet (same household, so shouldn't be an issue)
The goal is to amass a chunk of Hyatt points for 2025 spring break - if we get all 6 of these cards there will be more than enough to pay for the trip, then will decide how to spend (likely southwest or more hyatt) - my question is - is this behavior asking for a shutdown? There is no MS - all organic - just front loaded some future vacations and paid property taxes, along with all of our day to day spend. I am tempted to just go ahead and transfer a chunk of the points to Hyatt now in case something comes up and it draws scrutiny? Of the 4 applications , 3 were approved instantly, and one required me sending in my drivers license, so that one got human eyes on it.
Thanks!

At some point I likely will want one of us to get the CSP so we have the transfer partners available on a personal card since the "business" is borderline - but hopefully I can actually get it to legit grow (albeit it will never be a big CC spending type of business)

I've never heard of this. I have been transferring my UR's to my Chase SR for as long as I can remember. I always transfer URs from my business cards as well as freedom cards. All go to travel. It is a feature of the UR family to be able to transfer points.

I think that post was referring to two people combining points into another person's account. The T&Cs only allow transfers with one other household member, not two.
