If you can find an insurance company so designated as a grocery store, then your card will work.

That said, you can use those GE cards at WM to buy a MO which you can then send to the insurance company, if they take MOs, for payment. :)

Those everywhere card have velocity limit at WM. It works whenever they feel like it, very random. But it doesn't get lock up like those Incomm ones.

Thank you both! I managed to load Discover account with them, $99 swipes at WMN CS.

For everywhere cards (and 5backs) you could probably go full $200 (instead of $99), I yet to see a DP on a WM not accepting the full $200. On velocity limits I've seen places where they decline the second and I've seen places that you can swipe up to four in a row.

When you say swipe up to four in a row, you initiate 4x200 deposits (4 different) or one 800 deposit with spit payment 4x200?

In those places where I know 4x works, I normally do one single load of 3x200 for Discover load and 1x200 for OnePay load. There was a WM where I didn't even needed to ask for split, it was auto-draining and was way too easy, but I was nicely asked to not load there anymore (it was my first days and I was showing up way too many times and experimenting a lot). Haven't seen such auto-drain in other places (mostly lack of trying, since I'm scared to experiment again after not auto-draining a couple of times in other places) and always ask for split.

Is the Discover card easier to load at WM than Bluebird? I am running into roadblocks with my Serve and Bluebird card at FD's so am looking to adapt.

BB has a load fee at WM, for your information.

Haven't tried, but I imagine you should be able to load your BB card at WM if willing to pay the fee.

Loaded a $200 MC BIN 511332 last week at Walmart cashier no problem, stuck with $200 as I haven't loaded at WM in a while and didn't know if multiple swipes worked.
Went back today trying to load a VGC of $490 (bin 435880) and wouldnt work. Shifted to another Serve card and tried $200 with a MC (511332), invalid tender (I believe?). Is this just hit or miss or was I doing something wrong?

Those BINs haven't worked for me for MO at my local grocery store. As of 11/26 I've been dry.

Tried to purchase two MCGC (under $1k with fees) at WMNM SC, required a manager override. Had not seen that before.

(Sadly haven't seen any high-value Visas in awhile)

Around here it was some time in mid 2024 when they stopped selling the variable load VGC.
Almost everything is now MCGC.

You're still in the wrong thread...
You're looking for one of the various loading @ WM or MO @ WM.

For example:

Anyone having trouble with purchasing the 500 incomms from WM? Several different Amex cards haven't worked (even new ones) to purchase at SCO or register (even one time at the CSC). It's hit or miss - as in it will work occasionally, but often the transaction will either go through and then immediately reverse the GC portion (so my cc activity shows purchase of $520.97 and then immediate credit of $504.94) or the entire transaction goes through and then immediately reverses the entire transaction (so cc activity shows purchase of $520.97 and then immediate credit of $520.97 - I believe this mostly happens at SCO when a rep has to come over to help). In both cases, the GC is not activated.

Sorry that's a little vague, but been struggling with this for a few months and it's almost not worth trying myself anymore so as to avoid big GC sized credits all over my Amex activity. Hoping someone else has experienced similar and has some suggestions or explanation.

Works for me to buy them for amounts just under 499.99 total with fees

I have seen this happen when there is an issue with the GCs (can't be activated, or maybe were tampered with?)

It used to be you could buy two, if the total was under $1k. Is that the new limit?

ChurningAP Mar 2, 2026 7:02 am

Interesting...I'll give this a try. Is this < 500 in total or just for the GC portion?
