yup OBC x 3 still working for 5% at g/g/d. WM only a 3 % Disc Miles for the first year is decent. A 2% card hardly worth it.

BTW, BJ club still has Vanilla MC and SSpends @ 5.95 that can be liquidated. Currently, Disc has 5% back at warehouse clubs this Q.,

Discover is only good for the first $1500 ($75 cashback at 5%) Anything over is 1%
That equals 3 $500 cards for the three month period.
Not exactly a windfall

If you have $75 to light on fire, let me know, I'll come and grab it since you don't think much of it.

My point wasn't to make light of the money, but to highlight the fact that returns were limited.

It's not a gold rush ;)

Yesterday I was able to buy under $1000 VGC at the self checkout kiosk at my local regular walmart. Today the Self machine declined my transaction. Then I went to the MC, the transaction went through fine. Did Self check out machine stop selling VGC on CC? Or is there new dollar amount limit on self checkout machine?

I wasn't able to buy a $500 VGC at SCO in April / May.
Used to be able to earlier in the year.

Next time, I will try under $500 to see if it will work. Don't want to go the MC, the manger at this store is not very friendly.

I can buy at checkout with cashier.
I think it is some sort of fraud prevention.

Self checkout machine limits of over or under $1000 aside, were you using the same card? I notice this problem when using a Chase card, too many gift card purchases at different Walmarts nearby (regardless of over or under $1000) will cause any attempt at a self checkout to decline. When I called Chase I was told there’s nothing on their end and they’re not the ones declining the transaction. When I go to a regular checkout it works just fine as well. It almost makes me suspect the self checkouts recognize if a card has been used repeatedly (at self checkout) and places its own velocity limit (across multiple stores) on attempts to buy gift cards separate from the rest of the store

It’s possible it’s set as a velocity limit. I was able to do 3 swipes of the staples visa gift card at WM sco. Then it suddenly limited to two different VGC at one transaction even if you use it as a credit card.
it’s a hit or miss when I try to purchase a $395 vanilla gc at sco with two staples $200 vgc where I have been stopped by the employer that there is no purchasing gc at sco and have to head to customer service or MC.

I saw this happen as well, but another credit card worked fine. As stated above it appeared Walmart was (temporarily?) blocking the card I used the day before at self checkout because I saw no evidence the charge attempt was put through on the card.
