Duh, all paper shuffling operations are zero-sum game. Were you ever under the impression that MS, banking, investments, insurance, etc etc produce tangible products or services? And is there disappointment or resentment as a result of this "discovery"?

I was under no illusions. I'm fully aware that we as a group are a statistical anomaly, which is hopefully just a blip on their radar. My comment was for those who try to find a rational reason for why CC have legitimate reason to shut down accounts, beyond just "we can get away with it and you're not a sucker who makes us tons of money".

At the end of the day, I wasn't surprised or necessarily mad that Cap One shut my Spark card down 5 years ago especially when I was fully aware of what I was doing that was not the intended use of the card. By that time I had already gotten another 2% CB card with the Fidelity Amex so I didn't really care. In fact it was just right on time before I had to renew my AF. What I wasn't hoping for was that banking relationship would be torched as well. I would be fine with Cap One not allowing me to get one of their CCs ever again but was hoping I could get the banking bonus. Either way I know now not to waste any time with Cap One on any products so screw them.

The "not as intended" part is all BS. The way I see it, what's the difference between me spending 40-50k/mo on GC, or some other guy spending 50k/mo on legit business expenses. Not to mention, GC are legit expenses for many businesses like property managers of large multi-family housing. I guarantee you Cap1 would gladly shut down anyone who has high spending and doesn't pay interest. They obviously go after us since we won't go making a big stink in the media and tarnishing their image.

Barclay arrival got shut down
Barclay Arrival got shut down, couldn’t redeem the 350k points online, so I called CS, was told the statement credit will be applied in 7-10 business days, it hasn’t, what’s next I can do?

How many business days has it been? You can certainly try calling them an explain to them that it has been X number of business days that is outside of the 7-10 business days and would like an update.
Is there a place or institution I could file a complaint regarding this? |

It has been 12 business days. I received a letter from Barclay today, it just stated “cannot be redeemed at this point”.

You can try to send a complaint to the CFPB to try to light a fire under Barclays.

C1 shut down my 2% biz card lately and also shut down p2's due to both buying simon VGC and WM BP. seems WM BP is the shutting down factor, not necessarily buying simon VGCs. good thing is that C1 cash back already redeemed.

Debatable, since I got shut down in Dec. as well, but did heavy BP on the C1 for over a year. It's possible they're either cracking down more lately, or you just pass a certain lifetime volume of rewards trigger, where they suddenly examine your account. I did get a call last winter asking about GCM purchases, so maybe that put me on the radar.

Curious how many people are doing a considerable amount of MS in supermarkets with AMEX, given all those extra points on HH cards. Concerned if a large volume of MS across the board will trigger a wave of shutdowns. While losing amex won't hurt me, i prefer keeping their cards.
