THIS IS A WIKI TO AN OLD THREAD THAT IS NO LONGER BEING MAINTAINED!

This is a new thread for 2017. The previous discussion can be found here.
The new thread for 2018 is here.

DETAILS:
Bill Pay cannot be done at a regular register. BP must be done at Customer Service/Returns or at the Money Center in stores that have it.
WM offers two BP services: CheckFreePAY and MoneyGram. The cashier can initiate CheckFreePAY by selecting Money Services followed by Bill Pay on the register for a fee of $1-1.88. Moneygram is $4.99.
ONLY 4 successful debit card swipes can pay for a transaction. ONLY 5 payments per 16 digit account number per rolling 30 days.
CheckFreePay (800) 676-6148. - Look up payments using CC number and time of transaction

Standard BP- Once your CFP account is set up, you can add CC. When you want to BP give them your phone# to look up your account under Money Services. They often get confused and think you want MG, but just say it is under Money Services. Make sure you get 2 receipts, one from WM and a small one from CFP showing the CC# and Biller name you paid.

WM App - The Money Services works in express lane for BP, but has issues making 2 or more payments in a row. Make one BP, then come back or do another trans, then another BP to avoid issues. Make sure you get a BP receipt in the app and it shows the BP info and the CC you paid before leaving the store.

Some tips: If you don't get a receipt and they have to print you one, make sure the CC you paid appears on the printed receipt. If not on receipt, call CFP with the manager to verify there is no payment processing. They can cancel any transactions and pay you in cash right away. If they cancel the transaction and their cash drawer opens, that means they should pay you in cash, if it doesn't open, the money will probably return to your cards. Not sure what happens on the same day? Watch their drawer when they cancel the transaction to see if it opens. If they say the money will return to your DC, make sure to write down the managers name in case it doesn't.

BUSINESS DAY transaction completion time is 18:59:59 EST (Holidays change post day)
Friday after 06:59PM EST, until Monday BEFORE 07:00PM EST arrives Tuesday
Tuesday BEFORE 7:00PM arrives Wednesday
Wednesday BEFORE 07:00PM arrives Thursday
Thursday BEFORE 07:00PM arrives Friday
Friday BEFORE 07:00PM arrives Monday
But when a next-day payment will post and be visible depends upon the CC issuer.

--------------------------------------------------------------

:-:VISA and MC
If your particular card isn't on the list below, try "VISA" or "MASTERCARD."

"VISA" and "MASTERCARD" payee can no longer be found by search at some stores. If the employee can no longer find "VISA" or "MASTERCARD" by searching in CheckFreePAY, then you cannot pay either, end of story.

Well, I only made my first successful MG AmEx payment this morning. Will update on when it posts (or not) and if subject to the 5 payments per 30 days. Because I definitely hope to exceed that lol 👍

Made my payment yesterday around 8:30 am ET, AmEx now has the "Your payment was received and is being processed" message when I login, but it doesn't show as posted yet. I'm traveling this weekend but should know in a week or so whether the 5 payment limit is in effect ^

A couple data points for MG billpay

I was able to pay an Amex OBC with the "Amex next day" for $4.95

When tried to pay an SPG bus cc with "Amex next day" and received the "invalid account number".

When I tried to use the "pay any credit card" the fee turned out to be $9 and change for a $1995 payment.

I know Citi can be paid as MC but does Citi have its own BP > Citi > Credit Cards section as well?

seems like am3x RAT team are busy. My friend just got her OBC late last year and thought it was a great idea to use B/P vs depositing MOs. BAM! she got the ax yesterday. She has paid "only" 3x and think this is "unfair".

Maybe they can't catch everyone doing this and she's just one of the unfortunate ones. But for those who have relatively new am3x cards and make this their main payment method, they should know now that RAT is taking notes. In fact, from reading a lot of reports, WMBP seems to be the main factor in a lot of CC shutdowns. Tread lightly.

Dang. I've been paying Chase cards via WMBP for a couple of years without incident. But I think I will lay low for a while. I like my chase cards too much to risk a shutdown.

What do you mean she got the 'ax' - what happened and what explanation was she given that attributes it to BPs and the "RAT team"?

I don't pry, I just listen to my buddies as they rant and be supportive. My understanding of getting the ax as most MSers use them is getting shutdown. I just go by info she is willing to share, she is the one who thinks it's the WMBP that caused her shutdown based on a lot of reports she has read online. I've just read about RAT team from doc's site and I've also seen them post on reddit which means they are prowling all websites for loopholes being taken advantaged of.

More likely on the AMEX end.

I haven't checked in a while, as I routinely PIF every cycle, but it used to be you were limited to TWO payments per cycle on the website. If still the case, they're not doing that willy nilly, they have that limitation for a reason, and if folks regularly add additional pushed payments, it's likely tripping some alarms. There's obviously a lot of factors, like how long you've been a customer, and what frequency and dollar amounts are involved.

Good Try threatening. Amex WMBP is just been tried recently and you are saying she already paid amex 3 times on her new OBC and that is the reason for shutdown ?

Please go and provide transaction details in FB and make staples to leave the FB prog

It is said on top of the thread that C1 card costs only $1.50 for the payment. But today, when I went to Walmart to pay C1 for the first time (spark biz), they sent the payment through the normal VISA network and charged me $1.88 for the fee.

The extra c38 is not the issue, but I am wondering will the payment go through properly? Any DP?

TIA

BPd as MC today as the first time.

All info is entered, I swipe, enter Pin, hit OK. Suddenly cashiers Screen shows a pop up "cant receive payment at this time". Transaction goes through and prints receipt showing deduction of funds followed by a voiding of the transaction. I checked GC balance online and it shows 500 > -500 > +500. This ever happen to anyone? Any reason for why it wouldnt go through that you are aware of?

you may have hit the max allowed number of payments on a 30 day rolling period. check your records how many payments you've already made to make sure.
