I plan on opening a DCU account to do about 4-5k in monthly MO deposits via mobile banking.
Is there anything I should be concerned about?

they seem pretty open. if you want a credit card they verify income through tax returns or w-2's.

DCU worries me since you have to write "for DCU electronic deposit" so if it doesn't work you're screwed.

Alright, I am about to open an online DCU account with the sole purpose of depositing MoneyGram MOs via the mobile app. Speak now or forever hold your peace :D

Data Point:

RBFCU - Mobile app deposited $498.80 USPS money order, first mobile deposit of any kind made on account open for 6 months+, was initially accepted but on hold, received an email within 5 minutes notifying me that it was cleared and available.

I have 5 banking accounts so far:
BoA where I deposit MOs via ATM.
Well's Fargo, ATM only.
Citi Bank, teller.
Logix, still haven't received my documents.
DCU, same as Logix.

Citi must have changed something since July... I used mobile deposit for a one-off MG MO of $499.01. IIRC just have to keep the stub attached.

Maybe it has to do with how dark the printing is like some other banks.
Good to know it worked for you.

Does Wells Fargo still work from the app? This link seems to indicate it would:

Not with MG MOs, amount entered doesn't match amount on check error message.

Any DPs on mobile-depositing Postal MOs to First Tennessee? I swear I got one through a few months ago, but now I just get the dreaded "Please enter the correct check amount." after 20+ tries and different backgrounds.

Logix Bank in Burbank can't read MG MO amount correctly, it even states that on their FAQ. I had to deposit mine directly at the bank headquarters which happen to be down the street from where I work.

Banks with high limits

Currently I have a 5/3 and they have no issue with MO deposit from mobile app...I am a little limited per month. Can anyone suggest another bank that has a mobile app for MO deposit with 5k-15k limits per month? I live in Atlanta GA, anything local? Thank for you help, the data at the top of the thread seems to be a little bit dated.

Thanks!
