Still works, but many are now cash only, so its very much YMMV.

There's a bunch in Brooklyn, I may hit up a bunch at once. Do they still have that $500 limit or something?

Large majority in BK are cash only, so it may not be worth the time. Bronx is a better bet, and more are willing to take debit. I certainly wouldn't go beyond $500. Lots of horror stories of people having funds beyond $500 held in limbo (i.e. deducted from the gift card, but not loaded to Serve). Multiple store managers have told me that its a $500 limit per store per day.

lol walking around da Bronx with high value VGCs sounds like a great idea :p

I wonder why Brooklyn are cash-only but Bronx accept debit...

no less safe than the trashy areas the FDs in BK can be found in.

I asked some of them why cash-only and a number mentioned that they had been defrauded in the past and are trying to prevent future fraud.

Interesting that there seems to still be no shutdown wave since I made that post a month ago. It's over 6 months since the last shutdown wave I know of at the start of January.

Is the general strategy here still to apply for 5 VIP Serve cards and use them at the end/beginning of the month to load then push ach and close? Then reapply until back to 5 open?

As long as there is no balance or activity they incur no monthly fee is that also correct still

Keep in mind the daily and monthly limits. For any given card, you can only load $2,500 per day. For any given card, you can only load $5,000 per month. And across all cards associated with your SSN you can load a max of $10,000 per month.

Most people are seemingly unaware of that last one. You can't just load up $5k on 5 cards within a month. On dollar 10,001 (regardless of which of your 5 cards it falls on) the system will reject it until the next calendar month.

I assume that the $10k limit across all cards doesn't include Bluebird since it's not a Serve product - correct? I have had $10 in loads on 2 Serve cards and $5k in BB loads in a month before.

so, serve & bb are different product & separate? if one has 2 serve & 1 bb, could load a total $15k/mo?

Using Serve for Minimum Spending Requirements

Is AMEX Serve a good tool to use when trying to reach MSR? Im talking about 2-3k a month. Am I correct in my understanding that Serve is best used for MS when purchasing a VGC/AMEX GC and loading it at a listed location? After loading it, I can pay bills? What other options do I have to liquidate? Withdraw from ATM? Transfer to Someone else? Transfer to bank account? What are some $$$ limit guidlines to follow when doing this to avoid account shutdown? Thanks for all help

Hey man, do some reading. Most of those questions have been answered in this thread plenty or can be found out pretty easily on the Serve website.

Yes it is a good tool for MSing.
