I'm a little confused as to why Chase would shut me down for paying a credit card I have had for years? Honestly, the question doesn't apply just to Chase but paying for other credit cards in general. Citi credit card I can actually pay for through serve.com. I'm actually looking to not be shutdown by Serve, but I'm curious to know your line of thinking. Why would paying for CCs lead to shutdown by the credit card companies?

Which Serve card is this? Amex or visa? Do you call Citi customer service to pay? |

I don't know if this will help you or not, but I have Visa BB and P2 has Amex BB. We just load it at Walmart and use it to pay bills since both have routing # and account #.
I was shut down because I was loading 5 digits worth of GCs and paying five digit bills. Amex probably thought that I was not their target customer and closed me down 8 years ago. However, for some reason they let me slip back in 4 years ago for a single account. (I have not been able to sign up for anything else since that mistake) but have kept my loads and spends well within their target population without incident. So, don't go overboard and i suspect that all should be fine, of course until it isn't. |

As long as your loads and bills are not substantial, you should be fine.

how about $500 a day?
Would that be under the radar? Do you think that someone in that income level would be depositing $500/day into your presumed only checking account? That works out to about $10K/month. And if that is going out to pay bills and other 'expenses', do you think that some Rat in Amex may get curious. I cannot give you an answer, all I can do is tell my tale of woe that got me shut down and what I have done to avoid getting shut down since sneaking back in (for whatever reason they let me do it). There are lots of DPs out there with people describing huge sums passing through their accounts without consequences. In the end, it's your account, do what you feel best doing.;) |
Maybe I am risking getting shut down, but I just transfer $5k from 2 accounts to my bank every month rather than bill pay.

I had long forgotten I still had Serve/BB. Called their phone reps to close them out. BB no issues. Serve Silver, had to be transferred to "security/protection" team. They were able to close it out. I asked if they could confirm that an old Serve Green was already closed (shutdown) from years ago. All the rep could tell me was that during a review, they found I went against the terms, and thus no additional info available. I would have to write to corporate to confirm it's closed, which is laughable. They gave me a PO Box in Fortson, GA in case I wanted to follow up.

What do you think the median income of a person shopping at WM is? I would guess between $50-60K a year ($25-30/hr)

Is serve loading at dollar general using debit allowed? I went to a few stores, all sad cash only.

It's allowed, but individual store managers like to make up their own rules, so YMMV. I can currently load debits at 1/3 of my local DGs. Recently, it was 3/3, before that it was 2/3, and before that it was 0/3. Go back at a different time and try another employee, or try again in a couple of months and hope for employee/management turnover. |

FD Error Message I have gotten the above error at two FDs with two different Serve accounts this morning. The error appears after swiping my Serve card. Anyone else? I am below the monthly limit for both. |
