As of 9/18/21: WM loads are no longer free. WM will charge each load (no matter what the size) $3.74 in addition to the money being deposited into your Go Bank account.
GoBank fees and limits:
Cash deposits are limited to $2,500 per day and $3,000 per 30 days, subject to a maximum account balance of $50,000.
The monthly fee will accumulate if the account is dormant. You must call the phone number on the back to close the account.
5/29/19 - There may be a difference in which card gets free loads at WM. Getting the card online through GoBank.com sends out a Visa version. This card may not allow free loads at WM. Reports are that getting the card directly at WM will result in free loads. If anyone can confirm this, please do so.

binnycode (closed, re-opened) - 7x $200 loads + 1x $700 load + 3x $500 over 2 days got me shut down. Called CSR and they re-opened my account, letting me know that "direct deposit would reduce my number of trips to walmart" lol!

In the past they wouldn't but I have no idea if that has changed. My account has been dormant since Dec.

Personally, my view is this: GoBank needs to make money, just factor in the 8.95 fee into your bottom line and don't try to avoid it. If you do try to get the monthly fee waived with DD and only load GCs, you risk shutdown.

This is horrible advice. Paying $8.95 a month to load this card is not worth it. It is so easily avoidable, and many banks count towards the DD requirement.

To each their own. Everything has been working fine for me so I'll just continue along on my merry way.

Here's an idea, set up DD from payroll. That's what I do, and all I do is load gc and bill pay without problems for two years.

I like to keep things separate. If my employer was willing to split DDs to different institutions, I would do the above, but my employer isn't.

Using GreenDots Still Viable?
Is using GreenDot still a viable method for MSing? If so, is the recommend method to minimize the risk of closure to direct deposit $500 a month from employer and load the rest using VGC (Metabank or OV??) I read that there is a 3k deposit max per month...does this still stand? Does it include the DD in the total? Thanks

1) Yes, Gobank is still live for MSing
2) Let the money stay in the account for a while or buy small items using the card
3) the 3K deposit limit dones't include the DD.

What the routing number do you guys use for ACH? I tried the number 124303162 with multiple banks (i.e., citizens, PNC, and Wells Fargo), and none of them recognized that number. Called citizens customer services and the representative even said the number does not exist for any bank.

Anyone have experience with really delayed bill pay checks not arriving? I have one that is now on day 10, and I just called, and they are going to research it. I think that's what she said because she had a thick accent, and it was tough to make out. They said they would get back to me in 2 business days, which is likely going to put it on day 15 after the holiday.
I typically mail my wife's check to me, and my check to the wife. I have auto paid out of the account for a while this way. The crappy part is they put the two checks in the same envelope from the third party mailer. I'm guessing the delay may be hurricane related, but I just don't want to fight them because someone is be off with the money on the checks. It was a bunch. The checks actually have the same home and ship to address, so I'm hoping it doesn't raise a flag from anyone.
Anyone see delays this long?
