Funny, but Smiths is on my list to become a "new" source of MS (for me). I was checking out today but not buying and GCs (yet). I asked the cashier - can I buy with CC or is it cash only. He was like - oh no problem you can buy them with a CC...didn't even blink.

On another note - My Smiths sells Kroger "debit" cards for $3.00. I've never seen these before. You can load any amount, up to $500.00. They are also reloadable. Has anyone seen these before and can I liquidate with WM MO? Will it work?

If you are talking about their 1-2-3 rewards card, I got one for a one time use to off load 3 MPs before they stopped selling the current version. I used on Evolve and to buy a MO. With the demise of MP's I will probably cancel the card as I think you can only use cash at Kroger to load.

Just bought 4x$500 at two different Smiths stores (so $4000 total today) -- no issues. They check ID but don't seem to (or didn't notice) them recording it...

Has anyone had problems using vanilla GC for MOs this month? My first swipe kinda timed out, then got denied, but was able to swipe 2 other VGCs to get my first MO in Feb the other day. Yesterday it happened again with the vanilla flavor card.

Just curious if any others are experiencing WMesk blocks of VGCs at KR, or if it's just my particular batch of cards (all with earlier expirations...3-8/2021).

Are they Visa or Mastercard? I usually have problems with mastercards

Visa. It's probably just the older batch that I bought (flat card without raised typing). The one that gave me a problem has an expiration in 2021. No problems recently with 2023 expirations, so maybe I'll just have to be more selective in my GC shopping.

If anything had changed, it would have been all over this board by now, I would think, as I'm never the first one to report news on here.

No problem buying 5 x $500 at K today. So at least in my case in midwest, registers are not hardcoded for a $2K max.

Registers aren't hard coded against it but there are signs appearing in the Cincinnati area detailing the $2K limit. This is going to suck hard

As long as the stores info is not tied together, it won't be that bad unless you only have one close store. Even if you do, worse case scenario is $45k per month ($1.5k per day) if you make it a daily stop.

yeah no kidding, how many serve/bb's do you have that you need more than $45k a month

unless you use these for bp and mo... in which case their are other, more efficient ways.

We're still mid tier MS'ing so need a significant volume. I wasn't aware that there were other more efficient ways than bp/mos in the 6 figure plus range, would appreciate a pm if you're in the sharing mood? ^

You should try again with the cards. About 5% of the cards I buy don't work on the kiosk but when I go another day, they suddenly start working

It's not $1500 a day (3*500). It's $2000 which is 3*500 plus a 476 of whatever maxed out to $2k. Your fees will increase a little but likely still overall better to max out the $2k.
