800-950-5114. Non-US agents are, as of at least August 15, 2015, able to do debit card payments. If they resist, ask for a US agent.
Please do not report that debit payments do not work over the phone, they do! Hang up and call again (HUCA) until you get someone capable.

The same thing can be done in a Citi branch, but you do not swipe the debit card or enter any PIN, so it seems likely that the same cards do/don't work in branch as over the phone.
The name on the debit card must match the name on the account. You can be an authorized card holder (they'll ask the name of the primary). You can also pay off Citi Business credit cards (only attempted as primary cardholder). Limit of one payment per debit card per account per day.

Debit cards that work for paying Citi cards over the phone.

This is true but at times frustrating to keep track of. I made a number of phone payments on Thursday 1/27 to my Premier, and a number of payments on Friday 1/28 to my CustomCash. I tried to make more payments to the Premier on Saturday 1/29 and got the error message. I waited until today, Monday 1/31, but am still getting the bug on my Premier, even though a whole business day has passed (Friday 1/28) between payments to the Premier.

Called automated system to make payment today and it keeps asking to enter 4 digits for checking account number and doesn't give option to pay by debit card. Anyone else noticed that today or recently?

EDIT: worked from speech enabled option. For some reason touch tone isn't giving me option to use debit card as payment option.

Is their a daily limit for debit payments across all accounts? Once I paid $5k I was subsequently getting blocked on further payments. Curious if I need to wait for tomorrow.

They were but I saw my last transactions didn’t earn anything. Was hoping it was a glitch.

Edit: just looked and saw 1 out of 3 did earn CB. No go for Melio though.

Oh that sucks. I was just going to ask about this. I assume they didn't enable your debit card again? About how long were you doing this before they disabled your debit card?

About a month. It was locked for "suspicious activity" once and I asked for it to be unlocked. Had a few more charges before it was locked for "suspicious activity" again. When I asked to unlock it they said it would stay locked for violating TOS.

I assume if you cancelled the card and tried to reapply sometime in the future you may be denied?

M1 Plus debit card works as payment, but does not appear to earn 1% back. Someone please add this to the wiki (I'm not yet allowed).

I'm surprised there aren't reports on more rewards debit cards listed in the wiki, especially the Discover debit card but also newer crypto ones.

Just noticed today I can no longer pay my Citi Costco with a debit card by phone (I haven't called in to try). The menu doesn't even ask for debit/bank account, it goes straight to bank account. Last debit card payment I made was on 4/15.

I can pay my Citi Custom Cash with a debit card.
