I believe they started accepting V/MC when I started posting about the Discover credit fee back in post #2725 at the beginning of this month. The wiki needs to be updated, though.
Any leverage methods to help with 3%? |
I really wish these [redacted]'s would [redacted] and stop contacting me I want nothing to do with them any more
Dear Valued Customer, Evolve Money is dedicated to giving you the power to pay your bills whenever, wherever and however you like. We know that having the ability to pay by debit cards is important to many of our users. Beginning next week, certain debit cards from smaller banks, as well as prepaid debit cards and gift cards will be subject to a 3 percent Bill Pay Fee on each payment. This Bill Pay Fee will be waived for most major debit cards, cash load packs and Evolve Money credits. You can continue to use these payment methods free-of-charge. Note: In the payment summary you will see the new fee amount when using a debit card for which the Bill Pay Fee has not been waived. If the debit card you are attempting to use has a fee, you will have the option to change your payment method before you complete a payment. We will send you a reminder before this change takes place. We apologize for this inconvenience. We will continue to enhance Evolve Money with the features you request, such as the recent addition of payment by VISA, MasterCard and Discover credit cards. Plus, we have some more big changes we think you will like coming very soon. If you have any questions, please contact Customer Support at [email protected]. As always, thanks for your continued support of Evolve Money. The Evolve Money Team |

chargesmart
It's a bad day when chargesmart.com is now cheaper (with debit cards)

And boom goes the dynamite. The last slightly useful portion of Evolve disappears. I like this sentence in the email - "Plus, we have some more big changes we think you will like coming very soon." Yeah, sure buddy. Because all the changes to Evolve the last few months have been positive.

Evolve is worthless now. So what's next best way to pay mortgage and generate points?

I could have lived with 1, MAYBE 2% fee. |

Agreed. Who do they think their customer base is? Anyone with a banking debit card most likely has free billpay.

I really wonder who will actually use this service now. Oh well, at least I made some use of it. It was a nice way to fund the kids' 529 plans.

Ha they probably have to try recover some of the bucket loads of money they already lost lol

i wish there was a way to delete the evolvemoney account. I don't want to hear from them anymore and without deleting the account they will keep sending emails and reminders.

I am not surprised with Evolve's rogue policy changes. This is just another chapter in the Evolve Money demise. Oh well GG Evolve Money. I see them going the path to bankruptcy. Id rather them charge the flat $1.50 express fee than to kill it altogether.
