I had a stack of those from the past year (some had lost $3 from inactivity), and drained them all at Target.

Target auto drains and is a great way to use up random small GCs!

How exactly would Target auto drain? The pinpad always asks whether I want to charge the entire amount ($500 in my case) to that card. When I hit the change button I'm asked to enter the amount I want charged. I tried it once to charge $250 from a GC and another $250 to my Sallie Mae but it totally confused the cashier. We had to do the whole thing again after I explained that I wanted to split the payment. So IME nothing automatic at all... What was I doing wrong?

For awhile I was paying my approx $2K/mo mortgage via Evolve using $500 VGC's, then the rules changed and I reverted to my old way of paying my mortgage via automatic withdrawals from my checking acct. Although it should have been incredibly obvious to me all along, I only recently caught on to the fact that it's almost as advantageous to pay the mortgage via MO's (especially if you still have a 5% cashback card).

Do not change the amount. Just leave the entire amount in place on the pinpad -- if the card has less than than, it will auto drain.

You can also drain it from Walmart possibly by purchasing anything. I haven't tried for VGC but Amex gift card does work. Walmart pinpad will ask for another payment if my amex gift card is not enough to cover the total so I don't need to worry about split payment.

So does Wags and most grocery stores.

I have three more pre-scheduled payments to be processed later.

which cc do you use? does it actually show up as "being" 3% card in evolve but then it didn't go through, or is it showing up as fee free from beginning?

you are late. Same as wuchien6401, I scheduled several payments using CC (aa citi ms) and the first one went through after deadline without fee. Trying to schedule anything new shows a fee in summary. I only could do 2 - 1 for march, one for april. March one went fine without retroactive fees.
When I added the payments no fee was shown.

Hello,
The payment on 03/05/2015 cannot be made to Biller New Yorks 529 College Savings Program because: Biller New Yorks 529 College Savings Program is no longer available.

Thanks,

I login into my account, it looked like Utah 529 plan was removed also. There are still a few 529 plans on the list. Not sure if any other 529 plans are affected. Interest thing: New York 529 College Savings Program Advisor still exists while New York 529 College Savings Program was removed. :(

My payment to Utah 529 got refunded. So I have to wait for that 500 to go back on my GC. Fortunately I never throw my GCs away.

Seriously? That was my last hope to have any use for Evolve as our UESP still shows up and I can still prepare a payment until I get to the actual submitting page. My next funding isn't due for another 2 weeks...

Be thankful you're not having to figure out how to liquidate thousands of dollars worth of rebate cards.

I don't know how people can obtain thousands of dollars in rebate cards. That is crazy.
