i'm glad they're going to allow CC payments, but that 1K and 1bill/month limit is still bad, as for most people it probably puts their mortgage and other major bills out of scope. i guess 1k is better than nothing.

1k/month maybe low for some, but like you said, I'm happy with this new arrangement.

I will happily accept another $1K of no fee cc spend per month. :D

Well, technically it's not "new cc spend". It's just to replace the lost AP road...

it doesnt really "replace" amazon payments. A lot of people had multiple ap, you cant really do that with evolve. Not to mention, this doesnt require 2 people to complete, but does require a bill to pay. So, its not replacing AP, its a new credit card spend, you just happen to lose a different method recently. Doors close and doors open, but they are completely unrelated most of the time.

Whose gonna guinea pig using an higc thru evolve?

aarif1 Nov 7, 2014 2:40 pm

Is evolve still adding payees to their list? I requested a couple about 6 months ago, including my town for property tax, but haven't seen any change. My town is medium sized, larger than some towns that are in the payee list, so it's probably not just number of payers that's lacking.

I just bought a $20 HIGC, but I'm getting the following message when trying to add a new card:

Please check that the card information you've entered is correct (e724)
I don't know if this is an issue with Evolve itself not thinking the card number is valid or testing with HIGC who's rejecting the card since Evolve isn't the correct category.

Did you try with a regular discover card as a fail safe? If a discover works but the higc doesn't then we have our answer

I don't have a Discover card, so I can't test it otherwise.

Julian Brennan Nov 7, 2014 8:34 pm

Added my Discover it earlier w/o any issues.

Is discover treating this as a cash advance?

I don't know, but if it does, it's stupid of Evolve to make a big deal about it, since no one in their right mind would use it to pay a bill. ;)

So I'm guessing no, but then again, a lot of things evolves does make no sense to me, so maybe they will.

Did anyone actually ask Discover about this? No? Well, here you go:

Hello Julian Brennan,

Thank you for your email regarding the current 5% Cashback Bonus Program for department stores and online shopping. I understand you want to confirm which purchases will qualify, and I am happy to provide you with some additional information.

Because Evolve Money is a bill payment system it will not qualify for the 5% Cashback bonus this quarter. However, we still pay your standard Cashback bonus for all bill payments, so Evolve Money will earn 1% Cashback bonus.

I appreciate your business and hope this information has been helpful. Thank you for choosing Discover since 2012!

Sincerely,
Jessica
