Are the MetaBank VGC's now declining "recurring" billings ?

Not sure why Evolve would configure the payment as Recurring in the first place, but recurring payment configuration fails to authorize against most Gift Cards.

There is wording on Evolve site warning about not scheduling payments more than 2 days out if using gift card.

Yeah but if you schedule for the next day it still fails with the recurring error. Same day might work, but evolve charges a rush fee.

Anyone have a solution to this?

Man, their new website layout just causes lots of problems for me. Did they reprogram in Flash or something?

I just tried paying DirecTV and found out through multiple tries and a support case that I am no longer allowed to use a gift card to pay my bill. This essentially neuters the usage of Evolve Money.

In this thread I read Alex from Evolve Money stated that they are committed to using Gift Cards and Prepaid Cards for bill payment.

Where's the support? What's the point of these changes other than to drive people away.

Upgrade my a$$. This was a big downgrade for customers.

I'll be looking elsewhere.

Which gift card? All billers, or just DirecTV?

Utility bills changed from 2 days to Express

I have been paying utility bills for many months using Evolve money. Now I notice that some of my utility bills are automatically changed from 2 days to express. There is no 2 days- no fee option anymore.

I will delete the biller and avoid Evolve money if I am forced to pay $1.50.

It does not make sense to pay $1.50 to pay a $14 water reclamation bill. I will as well pay using bill pay from bank checking account

The same thing just happened to me! Ugh! I have an authorization amount pending and I was given the same reason "Recurring/Installment restriction".

I used the same gc from staples.

You do not need Evolve to pay Directtv. Pay directly with a credit card. Use evolve only for those that cannot be paid with a credit card.

Well, there are some uses for Evolve even if the biller accepts a credit card payment without a fee. For example, if you're buying VGC at a store with a category bonus you can come out ahead versus paying a biller by credit card directly at 1x.

But if you have an ink card aren't you getting 5x?

That assumes everyone has the Ink card. There are other options too.

Personally I think it is safe to assume any serious MSer has many Ink cards
