Kate will only allow load totals up to $1999.99 every 10 minutes. It does not matter if it was you or the person before you. If you go over that limit, Kate will freeze. Sept 2015- Several people have reported the 10 minute limit is now longer than 10. Not sure how much longer yet. Several Kate's have locked up following the old 10 minute rule.

9 digit pin problem - Sometimes, for unknown reasons, after you swipe your card and enter your pin, MCE will ask you for a 9 digit pin. To date, no one knows why this happens, or has a fix for it. If it repeatedly asks you for a pin, this is the same as the 9 digit pin problem and there is no fix.
Unplugging and re-booting by a supervisor doesn't fix this problem.

For consistent MCE issues, use the WM feedback link to report:
https://corporate.walmart.com/contac...orate-feedback
Select 'store experience' and be sure to include the store number and address. If you include your name and phone number the stores sometimes call when it is working again. Do not abuse this as it may lead to your MCE being removed.

How to shut Kate up by sosamo
  1. Before you press anything, plug the headphones into the jack near the pinpad
  2. The touchscreen will "gray" out, and you won't be able to press anything.
  3. Press '3' on the pinpad
  4. Press 'Enter' on the pinpad
  5. Continue business as usual on the touch screen.

Note: If you ever make a mistake, to get out, just unplug the headphone.

anyone from IAH can chime in? but I know of two Kiosks locally but both seem to be down, 290 and another on Westhimer inside the beltway, would rather NOT drive around looking for a working one, but does anyone else know of any other stores locally with them?

Found one today. Welcome screen said max $500x4.

The "enter money amount" screen had max $50, and wouldn't let me input anything higher.

Anyone experience this before?

Kiosk in Anaheim was working last night, but broken this morning. The one in Buena Park had a sign above that said it was out of order, but worked fine.

These machines get trashed so fast in a big city (and surrounding suburbs).

I had a great time using these in Maryland but now moving to Chicago... can't find a single working machine in a 20mile radius.

I think they fix these like once a week at the beginning of the week. I have almost never seen them working on a weekend but it seems Monday and Tuesday night's they ey are good to go. I think the machine just runs out of paper toward they end of the week and they don't bother to fix it

to the nervous nell, 20 something guy playing pocket pool with VGCs while using your girlfriend as a shield. Yes, you who managed to get the CSR from behind the desk to come out into the area in front of your girlfriend while your eyes darted around before you eventually left .....Be a man....Stand still next time and get it done because you just look shady and I can't get your attention before you run off like a criminal and the CSR flipped the darn kiosk off!

Is it bad that one of the highlights for my weekend will be discovering that my local Kate is back to being a mute!!! Pushed in 3xVGC and not a peep from her! Decided to see if the velocity limit was still in force. Unfortunately, it was and the transaction locked out the kiosk and the manager had to unlock it (wouldn't just let it proceed even though that was an option). Did the final load at the MC.

Paypower cards, so I called to set the PIN. Each variety has its own rules. See the wiki in this thread:

I was attempting to use the kiosk as an actual ATM. turns out none of the money cassettes has been inserted into the machine. manager came over, opened the machine, and noticed this. left the machine wide open while she went to a back room, brought back the cassettes and with the help of 7 other employees figured out where each one went in the machine and i finally got my cash.

obviously, these machines are very easy to maintain and the managers on duty have the pass codes, they just don't monitor and maintain them to stay in good working condition.

Last time I used ATM, as I was swiping my card, manager came running up and told me to stop, you can't use it, the ATM is out of money....
Well, ah, I'm not trying to get cash back I'm just trying to load my money card. (Of course I was trying to load a pile of gc's to my bb. )After two loads, he actually stepped in front of me and said he was sorry but he had to close the machine now. Told me I can load my card at the service desk. I told him using the ATM was much quicker, but he still said sorry. He logged into the ATM and when he left, the screen said. 'CLOSED'......

Found kiosk was working today, this was the first time I encountered the machine saying how much was being loaded publicly (they seriously need to shut this feature off). Has anyone used the cash back option from the kiosk?

Agree, I feel like everyone in a 50 ft radius can hear what I'm doing. But I've gotten used to it. No one ever seems to care. But Kate is sure a loud talker!
