Scared me for a sec

The same thing happened to me today. I didn't ask to re-run, they said they couldn't sell them right now, so I just left.

so funny story. I went to one of my favorite charlie stores. Went to the back photo register to buy two bars of ice cream. They scanned my id. Then went to the pharmacy counter to buy two more bards of ice cream. They scanned my id. Then went to the front register to my 5th and 6th bars of ice cream. scanned my id again.

and now...i have a stomach ache from eating so much ice cream. :)

What issue, if I may ask?

Vendor asked incomm to take money out of my account so they did and closed my account. Totally ignoring the fact that the 4 VRs purchased at that particular vendor were long since cashed out in effect taking new money out of my account without any explanation or reason.

Really interested in this story. Did you do a chargeback or was there an issue with the payment? Did Incomm take the $$$ from the same MVD card your relaods were loaded to or some other account with your name on it?

What recourse do you have in getting your $$$?

interesting experience today. My cee vee es still had a 1k/day limit as of yesterday. I went in this morning, and the auto checkout only let me purchase 500 at a time. The friendly clerk let me make two transactions to get up to 1k, but still, I've never seen this before.

My hunch is that cee vee es is playing around with their security systems and that this gravy train ride may be ending soon.

I think their willingness to scan IDs means that we are ok. I feel confident in this deal lasting for a while.

That happened about a month ago, but it was the cashier that limited it not the auto checkout. Went back the next week and no issues. No running up the red flag just yet because the CVS that was nearest to me never had beans, stopped in on a whim Monday and viola... beans for sale.

Went to my usual CVS and bought 2K for the first time in a while. No ID swipe, standard ID check.

Same MVD. Chargeback among other things. Lots of unnecessary frustrating phone calls, etc.

Last month the closest CVS was out of VRs for a number of days before restocking, so when I found none a few days ago, I just went to another CVS.

Today I looked again -- still no VRs, but I decided to ask, and the cashier told me that people had been hiding them so now they keep them at the counter, like the other CVS in town. She also mentioned a new $5,000 limit, so I asked for more, but another cashier said it was still $1,000/day/customer, so I could only buy 2. I think the 2nd cashier is simply misunderstanding the directive.

I'll go back after work and see if they let me buy another $1,000 today. Even though I would still have to load them to BB at $1,000/day, it would save a few trips to buy all $5,000 worth at once.

My concern with this seemingly joyous new limit of $5k a day is that if the cvs computers get it in their system that you have been blackballed, now you are all over! Why would that happen? Well they now are tracking us so at some point someone will determine you and i have bought "too many" of these for their liking. That will bite

Now its easier as they glance at the id just to make sure you match the cc used so its not stolen. But soon i feat our activity will be logged and improperly judged

FinCEN Form 104 When Buying Gift Cards

This article had me thinking... I buy about 15-20k beans to feed multiple birds

I am AU on multiple family cards since beans are a plenty where I live. But since I have to scan my ID every time I do this, it looks MIGHTY suspect...

I'm slightly concerned that I will get reported on by charlie ...

This is partly why I only buy one at a time. There are other reasons, but not having to worry about them tracking with my license is one of the major reasons.

The register at my go to store prompted for ID as soon as the 2nd VR of my purchase this morning was scanned. The nice lady showed me the prompt and said this was new as of about 1-2 weeks ago. Your store may have not gotten the update if it didn't prompt the rep to scan ID. Or it could simply be that the cashier didn't understand the new policy.

Yeah I would much rather not be tracked by CVS and potentially shut down. I guess 1 at a time with multiple cards will be the way to go.

You guys have me nervous about the license scanning. I will give it some thought.

I bought 4 beans today in two separate transactions because I wanted to use 2 cards. She scanned the second one and looked bewildered at the screen. I told her that I thought I had to scan my id now. The lady called a manager and they looked at a memo that confirmed what we already know. The cashier, who has sold me plenty of beans, asked me if I worked for CVS. I told her that I read about it online on a site on how to easily pay my bills. While I was purchasing the second set of beans, she asked me if I get CC miles and I told her yes.

The process was painless for the most part. I thought it was funny that I knew more than they did. They didn't think I was up to anything bad. I do wonder if the corporate office has an angle.
