Earliest I can head out is 11am here in Florida. Hopefully someone else can beat me to the punch.

Good night, and good luck.

Too young, too early. ::sniff::

I wouldn't form any opinion on the outcome here until at least tomorrow. Yes, the memo as written said "as of" 3/31, but that is a commonly misused phrase. Also could have meant as of COB 3/31 which would be first thing 4/1. While it made sense that an IT change (to the POS code) would have happened on a sunday night, it makes just as much or more sense that a policy change would happen at the end of a quarter.

What is the assumed effect of the policy on loading Serve w cc at CVS?

That you would be unable to load Serve at CVS with a CC.

Technically the end of fiscal March was Sunday 3/30, and 3/31 is fiscal April - most companies base their quarters on the fiscal months, which is why COB 3/30 or opening 3/31 makes sense.

Perhaps its just being rolled out regionally over the course of a few days - I'm not entirely sure how POS updates work...

Serve is the first item listed in the memo, so if the document is to be believed, serve would be cash only.

Well this is interesting then. I always thought the quarter just ran by calendar month.

I wonder when the individual POS terminals reload/reflash? I wonder if it requires a manual reboot? In 24 hour stores in particular, that may not have happened yet.

If this turns out to be an elaborate hoax, then I not only commend you for a job exceptionally well done, I also thank for motivating me to get out and pick up half of my VR needs for the month all in one day, yesterday. My regular CVS is supposed to get a new shipment today and I'm already ahead of the game for my $20K per month in requirements.

In general a quarter has 13 weeks, most of the time each month uses the last few days of the previous month, March just worked out to be much closer. For example, my employers fiscal August starts 7/28, and fiscal September 8/25. I'd imagine its the same for most businesses.

Anecdotally, the CVS I frequent (for more than just MS) didn't say anything about a change when I bought $2k of VRs yesterday, I'm going to swing by another one on the way home today to see what happens.

Just got denied in Bristol CT. I only tried to buy 999 and the computer popped up an error message that said "tender type not valid"
