Never mind - not reading closely enough!

$2,600 per card on a rolling 30-day basis is the limit imposed by Chase/their gift card provider. I would characterize it as a 3rd party limit as opposed to a made-up number.
This is not to say you should buy $2,600 on every Chase card you have during each 30 day rolling period, but you could. |

What are you blathering about? The topic was how much spend to put on cards at OD. And nothing to do with Chase GC.

CVS deactivates my giftcard
Recently bought 2K worth of gift cards at CVS and liquidated $1500 immediately. Later i found that the store manager suspected fraud and deactivated one of my gift cards. Now he says Loss Prevention will call me about the deactivated gift card and he cant do anything about it, i have been waiting for them to call me but havent heard anything. Any advice on how i should go about it?

Do NOT give any money or anything to him! Now if your CC never charges you for this GC... well, you could wait on it and act later but I would still give THAT at least 90 days. i mean, what if you felt compelled to give back the GC money to the store? And then... weeks later some charge back happens on your CC for the ammt. How long do you think you would have to fight to get your own money back---and lose the ability to buy GCs there again or in the entire chain because they now view you as a security risk even though YOU were the honest one! In other words, since the problem happened on your watch, YOU become the problem! Dont let that happen. Wait 90 days if you can. hey you may even get lucky and keep the funds! |

Are you saying you legitimately bought and paid for these GCs and then went and cashed them/used them... and then only after that this manager claimed there was something wrong with you or one of your cards? tell him sorry buddy I used it. You have to research it on your end. If needed, give him a copy of the paid receipt and tell him to go pound sand. Offer up your details to show you are an honest person but dont give him anything else. Just tell the truth: I buy X and I paid for it. Period. if you or your systems have a problem, that's not mine. So i will keep doing it and you better get that fixed. Sorry!

Interesting thing on my Chase Freedom - it now requires authorization when I buy beans at CVS. Not on any other Chase card I have, and not when I buy anything else (I buy postage and lunch with Freedom). I don't really want to hold up the line and make them call, so I substitute another Chase card and forfeit the 10% bonus, but does that mean anything?

I suspect what you've got is a card that was improperly used in a transaction (wrong pin/swiped credit instead of debit, charge amount exceeded money on card etc etc) - and that a garden variety temporary hold is on your card - which will come off in a few days to a week. With only 3 posts to your name, I suspect you are completely befuddled in what you are doing/saying. |
